Long term cap is definitely the reason for Garland. Many Canuck fans will disagree but I really don't think he brings much to the team, and that extra almost 5mil in the year Petterson expires is worth taking a hit for on ice value

I wonder if teams would (didn't shouldn't) give up good futures for rental. Rarely makes any difference. Horvat's shooting percentage is abnormally high this season and almost half his points are on the PP. We'll see if his good /very good season can continue..
