Thoughts - Playoff Caps
Minor details could be worked out but Canucks accept imo

The trio retires together
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pensfan89</b></div><div>Well I never said the Canucks would or should do that deal. I simply said they will come in screeching “Marino or no deal” because that’s what they always do in any trade involving Miller, Boeser, or Garland. I think it’s silly that the Canucks would be willing to give up Garland for anything so soon tbh. I think they will stick with him for now.</div></div>
Fair enough.
I agree with you on Garland. He was really good to start the year, is locked up long term, and we paid a pretty penny to get him.
Imo Miller and/or Boeser get moved before him unless someone really blows us out of the water with a Garland deal.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LetsGoPens69</b></div><div>Heinen a 2nd and 5th isn’t free. A 4th and 5th is. Heinen is 26, a RFA and has 11 goals and 21 points in 41 games this season. Garland is 25 has 11 goals and 26 points in 44 games</div></div>
That second is probably ~ 20 ish spots higher than the third the Canucks are sending back, thats minimal value.
Garland has a higher career PPG, and is signed long term whereas Heinen is due for a raise.
It would be a really terrible trade for the Canucks.

2.) angry canuckers screeching “Marino or no deal” incoming</div></div>
Canucks fans aren't gonna screech that but why on earth would the Canucks make the proposed trade?
You say no way the pens give away Kapanen for free then expect the Canucks to do that with Garland

can they afford to resign kadri
They can buy they shouldn't.
Kadri is rocking an insane on ice shooting percentage that will regress. Signing him to a contract based off this year is a foolish move you're better off letting another GM do

Florida is the best candidate for a Chychrun deal
This is a good proposal because it really makes you think.
The pieces Florida are moving aren't impact players this year so it definitely gears them up for a cup run. However, Knight is a very hard piece to give up and having him cost controlled as an insurance policy against Bob's 10mil would be huge as well.

How to be better next year maintaining cap space
I know Smith hasn't been good this season but that's a lot to give up for Garland.
Maybe Boeser

Depth never hurts in the playoffs I guess was my theory. Maybe Schenn would be more enticing (though I honestly don't rly want to move him)

Fair enough. I wasn't necessarily set on you guys. A return to Dallas might make sense.
If you would want Pearson for late picks I would do that.
I was trying to keep this AGM small so didn't want to do a Boeser or Garland deal

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NJDevils1317</b></div><div>Why are the Devils taking on a bad contract AND giving up a 2nd for a guy with 3 more points this season? I agree Garland is better, but doesn't seem worth it.
Zacha had a great year last year too, 4pts short of Garland. Maybe Garland is just a liiiittle bit better?</div></div>
Wishful thinking mostly haha? I feel like Garland just has a better rep but you're right regarding their points.

VAN trade worked by Gardoki and Canucker
It's been reported Halak won't waive.
Hog for Kapanen just doesn't make sense.
Hog has another year of ELC and Kapanen is looking for a raise. Canucks are also better off betting on Hog improving rather than trading for a stop gap

Caps Canucks talking trade
Caps are probably looking at Pearson for late round picks or maybe Garland which probably stars with McMichael or Lapierre

Zacha
I doubt we get Zacha for a bunch of garbage.
DiPietro has terrible AHL numbers, Dickinson's not a needle mover at all. He's worth less than when we traded a third for him. Brisebois will be an NHL 7 if he's lucky and a third is a third.

If edmonton wants to win mcdavid out nurse out
This might sound like non sense but McDavid isn't worth that. At least not to NYR.
Swapping out a Norris winner and potential Vezina (and possibly Hart) winner for McDavid doesn't make their team any better. Honestly it probably makes them worse.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Meh. I think we would probably stick with Tatar. What would Pearson bring that’s different?</div></div>
That's what I thought. They are both kind of "meh" players this year but Pearson has the longer contract which in this case probably decreases value.
