I think the goal was signing a future D-man. They just picked the worst possible option for that.

NHL is notoriously known for not really caring what people do off the ice (and sometimes on it too, looking at you DOPS), but Miller has set up a high enough bar for how much of a POS a player can be before NHL simply doesn't want this individual around - at least according to Bettman's comments.

That's not technically the Bruins though. Way less PR than the actual Bruins. Probably would've got **** on for it, but not to the extreme.

i hate that mitchell miller got ~$96K when signed by the bruins for two days... it might not be a lot to NHL teams but that 96k could've been well spent somewhere else (not in cap hit ways, more like external charity or something)

Technically yes, but let's be real, it's not uncommon for NHL teams to ask for AHL teams to sign some specific players for them to "scout" alongside their other young players. Leafs in particular is doing this with Marlies quite often, and just this week two goalies with AHL contracts have been signed to NHL contracts with their respective affiliates (imposter Matt Murray and Petruzelli).

What is the "new information" cited by Cam Neely? He seems to be implying that there were other incidents that he was unaware of.

No. After being drafted he spent three years in SHL, then last year he going through NHL and AHL equally. This is his first full NHL year, although since he did net exactly 25 games last year he's not Calder eligible.

New information = people still aren't happy with him being signed. Shocker, isn't it? Also, there was some rumors about him never properly apologizing for his actions, which is quite a red flag.

I can't recall a situation where the league bans a player from participating in the league due to being an asshat, but Miller might actually have to take that title.

Ah yea, I thought it was one of the big European leagues... Schneider was in the WHL...but I didn't know Schneider played in the AHL and the year before. I still wouldn't jump to conclusions but Dallas made out either way with the Lundkvist acquisition.

At least seeing how good Dallas has been this year, spending that first for a Lundkvist might've actually been worth it.

CBSNEWS.com just said fans were calling the organization in protest. Obviously that's a nightmare scenario. I just want transparency from the league and its teams in these situations. The fact that the Bruin's front office's only instinct is self-preservation is a problem for me. I know I wouldn't tolerate that if I was a fan.

He has a solid two way impact as well. Just because you’re put in a top pair role doesn’t mean you’ll get more points. A lot of defenseman can’t handle the workload
