Funny thing is despite this weird slow start Leafs are 1 point from 2nd in the Atlantic

Guess nobody is doing well but Boston and Vegas

Which helps with the Nov run as knowing them with strong teams they bout to go 9-3-2 (The losses are to the non contenders and to Vancouver in Vancouver)

I would fully use Muzzins 5.625 LTIR and go get 2 guys to improve the team without moving anyone else

A Dman and Forward would be the targets and for me the big prize would be SJS Meier

For a Dman I would explore Gavrikov

As if u can do it properly

2.8mill + 3mill = 5.8mill so while its a tad over just send someone down to balance the money

Just realized the title could have 2 meanings, either Sheldon Keefe is the only Leafs drowning or it’s a play on: just keep drowning but either way it’s a great title

Now splitting he and Matthews though is something that needs o be done as Keefe somehow has forgotten Tavares and Marner together combined for 40 goals and 94 points

Moving Nylander for a 4mill Dman and 2.5mill forward makes a tad more sense depending on who it is.

it was supposed to be a play on Nemo Just keep swimming lol, but its to be interpreted. I couldn't do just Keefe swimming because the leafs aren't keeping up right now.

I think that Nylander is probably the odd man out if a major trade is made. I'm not convinced that's the answer, but Marner and Tavares are not viable trade chips at their AAV/s. Dubas is in a real tough spot, just to get back to last year's level of play is gonna be a big challenge, and he really can't make a coaching change and keep his own job, right? My guess is, they stand firm and re-evaluate their situation at Thanksgiving time. I just can't see a blockbuster trade mid-season. That'd be a very difficult trade to win.


It seems impossible, but what if Matthews says he won't resign? That could be a blessing in disguise
As, thoughts on a base deal like this:

Seider + Ned + Bertuzzi + Larkin for Matthews + Liljegren + Kallgren
Add Picks and prospects to the side you prefer
Then leafs send stuff for Edmundson

As you see the leafs would have:

Bertuzzi - Larkin - Nylander
Bunting- Tavares- Marner
Kerfoot - Kampf - Jarnkrok
Engvall - Aston Reese - Malgin

Reilly- Brodie
Edmundson - Seider
Sandin - Holl

Sammy / Ned / Murray

He’s not playing too hot, his worst career start. Who knows what Griers plan is but if it’s too keep him bows then best time ever to push for an extension.

He’s got that “cold touch” right now. He could turn around soon. Him, Debrincat and Matthews I think are among the coldest in the league.

2 colds combined could become hot when together no idea. But he's a guy I would explore trading for

Haha. I was referring to the other Oiler superstar. The one that was actually traded.
