The team is playing really well, and that's with Ekblad and Duclair out injured.

Thats not playing well

They overperformed last year and Zito rushed them to much and made to many questionable moves. As when Weegar was out we all knew if Ekblad was out they were ****ed

As when u got a PP at 10.2% (31st in NHL) and a PK at 72.3% (28th in NHL) with all that talent thats bad. Plus the GF/GA statistics is not good either both being at 19/32.

In general they aint good rn and if losing one guy can hurt them this bad thats on Zito. As even if Duclair and Ekblad come back hes got to pay to move someone as they will be over the cap

The fairy dust be going strong but how bigs the stash

As we have seen this before in teams like Buffalo in the Eichel era they start really strong then randomly it falls apart and they never recover.

Whether this happens in NJ is unknown. As maybe they are overachieving, maybe they have figured it out, maybe the big teams just be sleeping and are waiting till later to start dominating like Tampa always does

As the saying goes its a wait and see game rn

And we've also seen teams that have started strong and stayed good all year. If anything, the Devils should be even better

Time will tell still way to early to be doing this

As we could see what is called the Buffalo Effect happen later on in the season or hey they may have finally figured everything out

Buffalo never had the dominating shot and possession numbers the Devils have. Barring major injuries, this team is here to stay. They've already lost Palat and didn't miss a step.

Its the second half of a back to back with daylight saving time factored in

Saving 10/11 shots is fine especially when u played last night

Kallgren should have made that save but then again that penalty call was silly as it was a tiny shove. But so far so good considering the above factors and the standard with shoves has been established so we should see lots of PP for both sides.

The devils are a solid team, they just don't have a starting goaltender. Both vanicek and Blackwood suck.

The play driving is legitimate at both ends of the ice, arguably the best team in the league at creating offense off the rush, but that's the only way they know how to play at a high level. Good teams will eventually find out of a way to limit them, just like what Tampa did to Florida in the playoffs.

Yeah Florida spent to much and got beat by their big brother. I do think NJ will be good but this season has been weird for a lot of teams so I want to see more before going to a conclusion that rn they are 100% legit. As we have seen this kind of stuff before. But yeah a starter trade might be in their best interest to start things off for 2023

Palat isn't a top 6 forward, he's a middle 6 guy who can hold his own being the 3rd best player on a line with elite players.
