The Blues are five points out of third with a game in hand on everyone but the Avs, 68 games to go, and today his model actually says they have a 15% chance at the playoffs and also that there is ZERO chance at all they can even finish as high as third in the Central. And when they lost during the streak, their playoff chances dropped roughly 8-9% each time (from about 70-something % pre-losing streak to a low of 6%) - but consecutive wins at Colorado and Vegas only lift them 4%? That doesn't add up at all.

It amazes me someone with such a great job would put his name on such slanted nonsense as his supposed Blues analysis, which is usually just tired jokes about 1) how much he hates the Blues for costing him bets (usually when he picks them to lose, mind you) and/or 2) how much Blues fans hate him, or if we're lucky 3) wild misunderstandings about Blues players that assure you he never actually watches them play (Parayko and ROR play bruising styles that won't age well! Binnington has been awful this season!).

The easiest way to see would be to compare his model to another one. Money Pick has STL finishing with 81.9 pts compared to Doms 83.4. Doms numbers are down for playoff percentage, compared to money puck which has 23.6% chance to make it, 6.9% 3rd place and 7.1% WC. Although a better team for this is Vancouver money pick has them at 75pts vs Doms 85. Sabres are 84 on money puck against Doms 79. All models are different, I don't think Dom thumbs his scale or whatever. I just think he rounds the %'s and leaves out chances below X amount. Another thing is how convincingly the blues won vs lost could scew the adjustments.
