They hardly ever give out ELC, Breaden Kressler was the last one. Still be nice to get an extra look at him.

Do the Hawks know you have to have a 20 men roster at least? Who is there left to play for them.

Do the Hawks know they could have traded Strome and Kubalik for actual pieces? Hell even like a 4th, SOMETHING!

I 100% would've traded #26 in exchange for Strome's rights. He's a young middle 6 center and teams will be "licking their chops" to get him

Yes but they that would have made them good at asset management

Could have got a 2nd for Strome and a 3rd for Kubalik at the TDL

Now they get a big load of nothing

Their GM has lost every trade he's made and is losing a bunch of good young talent for nothing. Couldn't happen to a better organization. I hope nobody shows up to the games and they lose millions this year.

I really can't see Montreal being a bottom 4 team. Bottom 10 sure, but unless we completely tank I can't see us being that bad.

Bottom 4
Arizona
Chicago
Seattle
Boston (might as well be bold)

Top 4
Tampa
Florida
Colorado
Vegas

still kind of early to say one way or the other. so far tho they added some potential but i dont see a lot of improvement. especially compared to the rest of the division.

There is going to be some interesting targets that don't get qualified, I am seeing the likes of:
Dahlen
Pitlick
Heinen
Stenlund
Aube-Kubel

Decent depth options

pitlick? would assume hes being qualified unless something's up
feel like heinen or aube-kubel could turn a lot of heads as decent bottom six options, maybe even top six if one of them break out

I am fully prepared for Mrazek to return to form next year and go all out Vezina style and have fans tell us why did you get rid of him.

Am I the only one that didn’t realize that Dahlen finished the season so poorly? Only 14 points in the last 50 games, and 0 in the last 13, after starting with 8 in 11. I had heard that he started really well and was meshing on a top 6 line early on, and then just never heard anything about him again, so I assumed he was doing just okay, not below replacement level. Anyway he seems like the type of guy the Leafs would try to sign for league minimum to see if he can turn into a complementary winger in their top 6 for cheap. Heinen is in a similar boat. NAK probably tops out as a 4th line energy guy.

do let me know when you find it, i think the only reason why he wouldnt get a roster spot specifically would be if slaf plays in the nhl, but even then i'd send armia or poehling down before him

Should have bookmarked it, the post went along the lines of:

Slafkovsky – Suzuki – Caufield

Dadonov – Dach – Anderson

Drouin – Dvorak – Gallagher

Hoffman– Evans – Armia

Questioning where R. Pitlick would fit in with, Paul Byron, Ryan Poehling, and possilbly wanting to give Rafael Harvey-Pinard and Jesse Ylonen a spot on the 4th.

But I guess Anderson, Hoffman, Armia could be moved still.

i think that pitlick should ideally be in over armia. 37 pts in 66 gp is good for a third line role, but he also shot like 20% which most likely will not be repeatable. i'd be open to bringing him back for 1 year @ ~1.5M, but if hughes gives him an armia/byron type deal then its not going to end well.
starting the season, i believe hughes will run 15 forwards (the 12 you have in the lineup + Byron, Pitlick, Poehling) and he'll explore trades for hoffman, anderson, and armia (like you said). defense would probably have Edmundson, Petry, Guhle, Savard, Harris, Wideman

There's no doubt in my mind Hughes will dump a winger or two this summer. When he got the job, he said one of his first objective was to clear some cap space.

Im prepared to watch Murray/Reimer tear house and for our med staff to basically be called voodoo demons

Like if Kase is an indication of what they can do imagine Murray

Also Murray's former G coach is in Toronto rn

If its a 3 team trade where both retain 50 and he costs 1.5625 dont really mind it as then you got space to go get someone else like Reimer

Honestly I see this whole thing play out like the Domi trade where nobody really gives up anything significant

Or we see OTT ret 50 and throw in a good sweetener

Kyle Davidson's recent moves escape so far away from any levels of comprehension I need to question his motivation to be a GM. What is he even planning?

I'm starting to think he doesn't know the answer to that question either.

Perhaps there's a conspiracy against the Hawks organization after the scandals they've been in the middle of, and Davidson works as a double agent to destroy the franchise from its inner works.
