Description
Before you come after me, the link provided will show why this could be an option... But of course, this is all reliant on OEL being willing to waive his NMC, which is highly unlikely. Luckily, in ACGM, I don't need to contact OEL!

Thanks for listening.

Détails additionnels:
CBJ is looking for a top-4 dman, and they had a plan to pick up McDonagh off of waivers at the start of the season if he declined to be traded by Tampa Bay.

OEL makes 500k more than McDonagh, and is under for contract for one more year, but this may just be the only option aside from drafting for a team that is notoriously known for struggling to attract free agents. OEL has provided more offense throughout his career compared to McDonagh, which could be a factor.

Like I said in description, OEL 99% would not waive his NMC for this, but maybe if it is sold in the right way, he would.

If not OEL, you'd wonder if CBJ would be interested in Myers instead.

Détails additionnels:
Vancouver gets out of Benning's final mistake in the best way possible, unscathed.

Of course, this still leaves a gaping hole on LD, which is what I try to fix in other moves!

The pick acquired could be literally nothing but future considerations and still be considered a win.

Penguins lose this trade big time. No one is taking Myers without Vancouver giving up more. That’s a crazy bad deal.

Value probably isnt bad but Ottawa likely isnt interested in Pearson. Need to add a top 6 winger, lots of middle 6 guys on the team as is.

You say that, but Friedman has reported that polls of Pro Scouts across the league value Myers as a positive. Myers isn't a player the Canucks are going to have to pay to trade, they're going to get value for him.

I absolutely hate every trade rumour the Jackets are attached to this off-season. Anderson, helping the lightning to move McDonagh for nothing, Miller, Kassian, Holl. I can't help but feel like the media is just using Columbus as an easy excuse to generate headlines.

If the rangers can somehow extend Miller I’d do that. But I don’t think can pay him or anyone what they’d get. Rangers can’t do any blockbusters til 24-25 season

It definitely makes sense for him to go to a contender this year that could actually take advantage of 1 year of Miller at $2.625 mil. Him going to the Blue Jackets just doesn't make any sense.

OEL makes 1.5 more not 500k
Regardless that contract length clogs Columbus too much for room if they want to grow closer to contending and for RFA deals of KJ, Sillinger, and whoever they take this year for the future all needing new deals before OEL ends

Marino is better for less money. Why trade him for a worse player making more money when we are already right up against the cap and still gotta sign our big guys. Just had no logic to it at all.

Well it’s not going to be from Pittsburgh. He’s not better than Marino. So that trade doesn’t make any sense. More salary for a worse player? No logic dude.

I didn't say Myers was worth Marino, just that he's not a negative asset the Canucks would have to give up items to move out. Don't see him going to Pittsburgh.

Based on talks around the league, he's worth a early pick + prospect. People on these forums severely under value RHD with higher cap hits compared to what NHL executives do.

1M of that is paid by Arizona already. But yeah, I know! His contract is very unlikely to be moved no matter what lol

Less than a week ago Freidman has polled pro scouts, and came back saying he has positive value in the league.

Multiple rumors around the league have him at the equivalent value of a 1st round pick. RHD who can play 20+ min a night are extremely valued in this league.
