They are doing what us canes fans like to call “experiencing”. This became a thing before Brindamour when they would consistently heavily outnumber the other team in shots and control the game but still lose because of insane goaltending for the opponent and awful goaltending for them. And now every time that happens we say “experience canes hockey!”

What a great job the NHL has done explaining the helmet rule that no one seems to know. I’ve watched guys skate back to the bench all season and now ESPN and TNT are able to tell us they can put the helmet back on without leaving. This league is an absolute joke with its refs and it’s lack of clarity on anything dealing with heads

That’s funny because both times they played Dallas this season they experienced big time.

When Bieksa said that they are allowed putting the helmet back on, during intermission, I went “huh”.

They’re acting like that was known a rule, MIKE SULLIVAN, doesn’t even know this rule. It’s kinda weird…

9.6 to me needs to be looked at as we have seen it cause confusion in 3 different series. The fact an amazing coach in Sullivan didnt know it shows how the NHL has not properly communicated this rule to the players or coaching staffs.

I think it needs tweaking and should reincorporate a rule seen in international hockey and in the old NHL before 2020 whereby

"If a player participates in the play without their helmet or without their chinstrap fastened, play shall be stopped immediately, regardless of which team is in possession of the puck, and the offending player shall be assessed a minor penalty"
