I don’t think Jiricek will be better than Slafkovsky. And the Sens are honestly fine on D, we don’t need a 3rd potential #1 D. I’d much rather have a scoring winger for Stutzle, and Slafkovsky is literally the perfect raw prospect. I would legitimately be shocked if he fell out of the top 5, but I would really like that to be the case. I do think there’s a shot that Francis goes a little off the board and looks at some fancy stats that say he should pick Lambert or something, which would just be a slight reach, but enough for him to feel smart, and Fletcher is a moron, so I’m hoping they both pass on legit top 6 picks, the other 4 teams snag Wright/Cooley/Nemec/Jiricek, and Slafkovsky somehow miraculously falls to the Sens. I would also be surprised if Jiricek slips to 7. Only once in the last 5 years have the two best D not been both off the board by 7 (when Quinn Hughes was taken at 7th as the second D to get drafted), and I would be shocked if you told me there was ever a 6’3” right shot D that projects as a top pair D available at 7oa tbh. If Philly was smart, they’re the team that should be taking one of these RD tbh. They’ve got York and almost nothing else on the back end, especially on the right side. They can pretend they have some forwards on the way at least (although I’m not a big fan of many of their prospects), but they truly have nothing on RD, so it wouldn’t surprise me if both Nemec and Jiricek were off the board before 5oa, let alone 7oa. Kemell is the guy that could realistically fall to the Sens that I want. Slafkovsky is my unrealistic pipe dream that I have when I’m hoping that GMs continue to show their stupidity.

Timezone and travelling wise CGY vs. TB final would be dreadful, gotta think it'd start affect the players too. These places are about as far from each other as possible on the whole continent.

I am not mentally ready for another roller coaster of a leafs playoffs.

The problem is this roller coaster goes up the big hill, drops, and crashes and burns.

Late to the party, but I'll throw my hat in the ring of predictions:

WSH over FLA, 7 Games (Bob struggles, Samsonov reverts to last year's playoff form. Ekblad misses multiple games and Washington Capitalizes) (NO PUN INTENDED)

TBL over TOR, 7 Games (Toronto puts up a hell of a fight, but Vasy holds down the fort and Campbell struggles)

BOS over CAR, 6 Games (Carolina's goaltending woes continue and Swayman excels for Boston)

NYR over PIT, 6 Games (Pittsburgh's depth exposes the soft underbelly of the Rangers, and they commit the least amount of penalties in the 1st round, but missing Jarry early on proves to be too much)

COL over NSH, 5 games (Big Save Dave is exposed to be a massive fraud, but Duchene, Johansen, and company steal a game late in the series)

STL over MIN, 6 Games (Husso continues his great season, Tarasenko and company expose Minnesota's lack of center depth)

CGY over DAL, 6 Games (Oettinger plays out of his mind throughout the series, but the Dallas offense goes silent outside of the Robertson-Hintz-Pavelski line)

LAK over EDM, 7 Games (MIke Smith reverts to mid season form and Koskinen doesn't do any better. LA squeaks by and gives Dustin Brown one last second round ride)
