and its not even close. everything about chiarots analytics and play sucks, yet somehow GMs are willing to part with an absurd price? Colorado is smart for getting the guy who was better and not in the spotlight. Whoever gets Chiarot will both be memed and flamed.

the day that Manson will play 28 minutes in SCF I will agree !! They both can play top4 minutes, but top2 I don't think that josh can rack up those minutes.

Remember this : Chiarot add those number with a bubble team ... where Manson is in an aging playoff team that had a downfall. Things are that Chiarot can also play both side. the value of such player can be a tad higher for a team looking for a minutes muncher.

Manson is going to be a good filler but not a top pairing d-man in a playoff run.

I mean Habs got slapped in the finals though so playing 28 minutes doesn't mean you played them well. Also only 2 teams make the finals each year so kinda hard to make a comparison to well anyone

Debatable, I would say that Danault was the most game changing player last year

yea he could get a 1st or a 2nd+. can't see him getting a 1st+ b prospect. theres a reason why the avs walked away.

As if, Chiarot has double the points, playes all situations, plays both sides of the ice, plays north of 20 minutes a night and has better stats and advanced stats.

i get your point and i think there pretty equal players. however the habs don't have the choices anahiem does with blueliners. if chiarot was in anahiem he wouldn't get that ice time and opportunity offensively. on top of that like you said 9pts in the last 10 games is just a hot streak. i expect him to get the same package and manson.

Plays all situations suggests he's a Powerplay guy. That is not accurate and just because he plays on Montreal's does 13% PP does not make him an all situations guy. Anyone can stand at the point on the powerplay and be ineffective.

No his advanced stats are not better lol, in fact they are quite significantly worse.

Anyone who watched last year's playoffs knows Chiarot was actually the weak link defensively in the Canadiens top-4. Of their top 7 defensemen by TOI, at 5v5, Chiarot ranked:

6th in GA/60 (only Kulak was worse)

How do you evaluate points as the reason for a shutdown guys effectiveness? Also Manson was a core piece to Anaheim's 16/17 cup run. Not his fault the team went through a since then. As for TOI, Chairot plays over a minute on average on Montreal's horrible powerplay and averages nearly a minute more PK time. That has more to do with Montreal being in the box much more
