I’m not a huge fan of Pagnotta (I don’t believe he’s anywhere near as reliable as Friedge, CJ, Seravalli, LeBrun, etc.) but if that report is true there should be 31 teams lining up to give Arizona their next two 1sts

I would feel bad for Yotes fans because of all these bullsh*t rumours about Chychrun, but then again there’s none.
See the first statement is incorrect. Toronto has dealt 1st round picks and has done well (Muzzin and Freddie to name a few)
Also, why would Toronto trade Sandin. That would be a bad move and then on top of that move Rielly to. Sure Chycrun is great but if its a 1st + Sandin while also losing Rielly in the process pass.
Ya, I should have said MOST trades with first round picks.
But I do not agree with you second point. Sandin has a lot of potenial, but the leafs are trying to contend now. Chychrun is far, far better than Sandin and is better than Rielly, who has no term. If they can somehow turn Rielly+Sandin into Chychrun, they need to do it ASAP.
How many LD do you want? Chychrun and Muzzin on the left side in your top 4 is elite, and Dermott is fine at 3LD. Brodie is obviously a top pair RD despite also shooting left, and everyone believes Holl or Liljegren will be 2RD although that’s what would still need an upgrade imo. Regardless, losing Rielly and Sandin for Chychrun is still a W.
If Leafs traded for Chycrun the dcore would be
Chycrun-Brodie
Muzzin-Holl
Sandin-Dermott
Dermott can play on the right side as back in 2018-2019 thats where he mostly played. In general many Dman can play either side so it really does not matter how many LD or RD you got these days as coaches aint really afraid to play their guys on their offside

Trading a 1st two years out is sketchy, so Sandin+2022 1st makes a lot more sense for both teams. Chychrun is only like 23 anyway so he’s only a couple years older than Sandin and already a top pair guy, you don’t need Sandin and wasting him on the 3rd pair is poor asset management. Would probably be:
Not sure who to believe but I'm going with the rumor is false
The tweet Craig Morgan linked is unavailable for me, anyone else? Anyway yeah it’s absurd if it’s true, I would give two 1sts for Chychrun without thinking if I was literally any GM.

Honestly if Arizona wants a deal I would do
2022 1st + Dermott + Amirov and maybe Liligren if they get pushy
Arizona gets a LD to fill in the Dcore, a 2022 1st and a top 15 prospect in Amirov from the 2020 draft and a RD prospect with potential.
Sure losing Amirov would suck but business is business
Gets Arizona closer to Wright and Toronto an intriguing Dcore.

I’ve watched him for many years at generals games in Oshawa, and have always noticed his work ethic and how kind he was to all his teammates coaches and fans!!
Someone needs to sign Brett Neumann to a PTO at least. This guy was fantastic in the OHL. I had watched him many many times and was ALWAYS impressed. Seems like a zach hyman type player. Sad to see someone like him fizzle out
Jakob Chychrun shouldn’t be shopped nor untouchable. Just available to the right offer. He’s 23, the Yotes will be ready when he’s 26-27 so he’ll still be useful but his contract will be over and he’ll be past his prime. Neither direction makes perfect sense so the Yotes should take a stance somewhere in the middle

Something else to weigh is that the return for Jakob Chychrun likely doesn’t give back a player with the potential to become Chychrun, and just ends up being a mid-1st round second pairing d-man

The sabres shouldn't be in that conversation, unless we can give them our 24 and 25 1sts or Rosen and 24 or something like that.
The Athletic Released a top players under 23 list! I don't have premium so I couldn't see it but it got me thinking, what would the list look like and it said who is number 1 Makar or Svechnikov. Makar has to 1 right because his position is so more valuable? Svechnikov is really good though and younger by 2 years I think.

I'm saying it's
Makar
Svechnikov
Hughes
Dahlin?
Oh man it's a top 194!
In the projected elite NHL player category, there are -
1. Cale Makar
2. Andrei Svechnikov
Then in the Bubble elite NHL player and NHL All-Star -
3. Elias Pettersson
4. Rasmus Dahlin
5. Quinn Hughes
6. Alexis Lafrenière

There’s someone missing, someone who led his team to the finals. Everyone on that list has never done that. I’ll let you guys figure it out. Anyways where is he on the list?

I woulda had Miro at 2-4 and Dahlin way lower, Laf is still a little bold to rate that highly if you’re gonna not even have Miro nearby
