Debrincat is better than Kane. Kane is the worst defensive forward in the entire league, that kinda brings down his overall value

As a Flames fan, I don’t have Gaudreau anywhere near top 10. You could argue Ehlers over Ovi though. I don’t think Svechnikov is quite there just yet. I think Kane is still an all-world winger

How much does that really matter though? A guy like him spends so much time playing offence and when he does play defence, wingers have very little defensive responsibilities. Unless you can PK, I just don’t think that 5v5 defensive ability as a winger is the be all end all. Not to say it isn’t important, just saying I don’t think it’s enough to remove him from the top 10.

It matters a lot actually - when Kane is on the ice the Blackhawks give up a ton of high danger scoring chances. Wingers do have defensive responsibilities, I don’t know where you got that from
“EV DEF” = even strength defense. He is a liability defensively

If he was average defensively he’d still be considered a top 10 winger, being the worst in the league brings down his overall value.

I didn’t say that wingers have no defensive responsibilities I said they don’t have a lot. They are the least defensively impactful players on the ice. Kane is especially unimpactful on defence, considering his 73% ozone starts. I’m not defending his actual defensive ability or lack thereof I’m just saying that I don’t personally think it’s enough to say he isn’t a top 10 winger

It sounds really wrong but I have to go with the habs for my bandwagon team now.

For one they are the only Canadian team left and for two they beat my 2 favourite teams and them winning would make the leafs and jets look better, and 3, Carey Price.

He’s been a defensive liability forever. What changed is not playing on a line with Saad and more importantly Toews

The franchise that has won 16 total playoff games over the span of 21 years and just lost one of the most lopsided series in NHL history to a team that finished 18th in the league is definitely really close to becoming a dynasty. Even Tampa Bay, who might have the best NHL roster ever constructed (at worst the best in the cap era) isn’t close to becoming a dynasty yet.

This year was so tight... I still watch Hedman in these playoffs and see he's unreal (the best). But he tapered off in the end of the year and played sheltered (tho injured).

I woulda liked to see Pulock and McAvoy get a nod but even then you could argue seeing Pelech and Girard.

Either way I wanna see Makar win. I think it'll be Fox or Hedman.

Norris recently has been if you haven't won but have had good seasons in the past so it's going to be Makar just because of that.

The dude used to be one of my favorite players not on the canes up until this season. Top players like him have gotta know their stuff and this season Scheifele didn't.
