I don't think Toronto would trade for DeAngelo in any type of situation. His issues stem far away from just his time in New York. He's a proven locker room cancer that won't go away. That's the way he was raised and nothing's changed nor will it. They've also said that they'd only consider a goalie trade if it was an upgrade over their current situation, which Georgiev is not. He's basically an AHL goalie this season. Add in that factor that Toronto would have to protect both those players in the upcoming expansion draft to Seattle, and this deal makes absolutely no sense for Toronto. If they protected either of them then they're losing one of Justin Holl, Jack Campbell, Alex Kerfoot, Travis Dermott, etc. - all of them are worth protecting over the incoming players. & if they don't protect them, they essentially just gave up a B prospect, a 1st round pick, and a decent veteran goalie option (who's at least an equivalent to Georgiev this season) for only 1 of those players.
Leafs won't consider this. If a goalie is of need that much to them, try a rental goalie. But they're also not in a position to be taking on as much cap space as you've listed either.
