Preparing for a Playoff Run Next Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>no i read. you said they were top 10 teams, they aren't. That has nothing to do with points. It's just facts. Bye</div></div>
I was paraphrasing your statement, if you had read or could understand the big words used, you would have understood that I originally had said they are top 12. To which you said something along the lines of "Not even close!" Which is why we are where we are. You like to insult people and call them stupid and bully people on here because you are so strong and tough but unfortunately lack the ability to really have any substance.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>you have no concrete anything.
They aren't even top 6 teams in their own division. VGK, COL, MIN, CGY........they aren't top 10. Bye now.</div></div>
I know I said all 8 teams in a playoff spot in the east are at worst top 12. At least that was the case when I made that statement. I haven't checked again and teams have played so things could have changed. If you had read what was written and had the ability to understand said words, you would have caught that but as has become abundantly clear, you either don't bother to read anything or are not able to grasp what you read. So here we are.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>oh the passive aggressive bs out of you. That might be the only thing you're good at.
The Central is the strongest division in hockey right now.
I don't care about your "points" argument. That's something a 5 year old uses.
The two bottom teams from the Eastern conference playoff bracket aren't top 10 teams in the league.
Since you clearly aren't capable of reading. Just because OTT isn't a good team this year doesn't mean they aren't stacked with high end prospects about to come in.</div></div>
The first half of that paragraph can be summed up with, "I don't care what concrete proof says, my opinion is the best" also you can splash a "it doesn't matter if they are a top 10 team they aren't too 10!"
Points percentage is how the league has determined playoff order in the past and when teams have played a different number of games, they use it over points. Because a team that is 20-20-2 in 42 games may have 42 points but they are not equal to a team that is 20-5-2 through 27 games. They have the same number of points but have done so in much less games. I know it's confusing, but when you look at more than 1 stat to justify your opinion and ignore everything else all the time, you tend to miss some stuff.

Who would Brassard move out? He wouldn't make the top 6, isn't a checking centre so 3C is out. Is he going to push Spezza out? No chance. He doesn't make TO

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>We already have serious futures!! We don’t have spots for them all. We have been picking high for years. And doing very well in later rounds. Now it’s hard to tell where all these guys go even if only half of them develop.
Today, we have the youngest team in NHL, one of the best pipelines outside the NHL, the 3rd youngest team in AHL that is leading that league in everything.
Severson is the longest tenured Devil and a leader on team. We need to hold on him.
And while guys like Robertson are appealing, does he make a big enough impact compared to Bratt, Holtz, Sharangovich, Foote, Mercer, Gritsyuk, Thompson, Zetterlund, Boqvist, Salminen, Moynihan, etc etc? Or play a role like Wood, Bastian, Stillman, Bardokov? Or compete with a Slafkovsky, Lambert or Kemell or whoever we get in next draft? Make a 2023-24 Devils lineup with all those guys and a completed Severson trade. It’s not easy.</div></div>
Robertson has a higher ceiling than most of those guys yeah. I just want to move him because I don't seem him ever being a focal point in TO.
Also I meant to say worry about the Devil's more than the Farm

On a bad team!!! Brassard would be battling Brooks for the 13th forward position and Bruan would be the 7/8th defenceman in TO. Being ok on a bad team doesn't make you great on a good team.

Brassard has no value. Philly apparently wants to get rid of some contracts and has interest in Ritchie. Braun isn't worth a 2nd. He's a 34 year old 6/7 defenceman.

Right now, Colton White is our 3RD until Dougie gets back. He has been doing fine, but it’s a stopgap solution and we don’t want to break up what’s been happening in Utica.</div></div>
I would say you need to worry more about your team than anything else. You are still rebuilding and will be for a while yet. Subban just won't get traded and you don't have a lot up front that is going to get major assets. Severson is the one who I think is the best to move. You can get serious futures by moving him.

Too bad we don't have Babs to put in a dump and chase north south system that would make these moves make sense. With Keefe's system these are entirely just bad moves that hurt the team.

This seems like a revenge post from a Devil's fan who is mad that fans think Subban has no value.
It's his contract sir, he would be an okay get if he cost 2 million or less but at 9 or even 4.5 he's not worth much. No one has that much space to throw away.

They idea that Klingberg is worth an enormous package of goodies, yet Devils would have to pay to move Subban, even at 50%, is not sane.
(Not really directing this at you…but that straw man standing next to you).</div></div>
Subban at 1 million is someone I would grab and see but Subban at 4.5 million is not worth getting. I would be shocked if he moved this season. At 4.5 he's an entirely way too expensive 3rd pair defender. And the cost to get him at half that would be just way more than he's worth.
Klingberg absolutely is valuable. I firmly believe he's just in need of a change of scenery. A better system for his skills would be great for his game. He used to rate pretty good defensively but then Dallas adopted a system that emphasizes his weaknesses and minimizes his strengths. TO's system would certainly help him thrive.

Sure and almost all of them have no idea how the game is actually played. They just pile onto speculation and argue about it without really know anything. Those people don't even understand that the system the Islanders play is polar opposite to TO's

I have watched Schenn his entire career. He has no puck skills. He's just not a good defenceman. Slow, and very little puck skills. He just hits a lot and stays in front. I watched him give up major shots against vs the Leafs the other day. A good defenceman, who is good in their zone, don't get caved in all game.
