Peitrangelo helps, however you have no money to address your 3C position like you want. Regardless, playing with 2 good lines isn't going to make the playoffs. Tampa, Boston, and Montreal should finish ahead of Toronto (with this team) leaving them fighting for a wildcard spot with Carolina, Isles, Columbus, and Rangers (maybe Flordia).</div></div>
That's an awfully pessimistic outlook. Montreal isn't going to be better than TO. Tampa is getting gutted this summer and Bergeron and Krejci are another year older, they won't stave off the decline much longer. There is literally one forward position that is worrisome and that is 3C. Engval can play the position well but his FO's are terrible, if he figures that out and Malhotra will absolutely help in that regard. It could be good enough. And the defence has the potential to be great or if the young guys take steps, utterly fantastic.

A wise GM with cap space and an owner that's willing to use it should be able to collect some nice assets for taking some dead weight off of teams hands that need to open up cap space.</div></div>
It's hard to say. If I was a GM on a team with space, I'd convince my owner to let me either offer sheet or just demand insane packages for any cap dump. Oh you want to trade Boychuck? I want Walhstrom, a 1st and a second for a 7th. Tampa, The Islanders, The Rangers, Edmonton, Vancouver, those are just a few teams that look like they have to cut costs. I am not sure there are 5 teams with space and the want to use it. Ottawa for example could just hold teams ransom and try to get young RFA's instead and force teams to hold onto older players
