Trade Suggestions
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>A massive overpayment by the Leafs in that Arizona trade. Comtois doesn't deserve nearing that love.
Pro rated Comtois had 25 points last season, but the Leafs give Robertson and and first for him. But 35 point Engvall gets a third rounder in return.
Why do Leaf fans hate their own so much?
Kings have no desire to take on all that cap for two years.</div></div>
They don't "hate" them. Quite the contrary. The overvalue them.
As far as LA goes... It depends on how much they would value adding a top line RW. The rest of the money is very doable with their cap situation.

Trade Suggestions
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stadel</b></div><div>Engvall's possession numbers are pretty solid. Id do that. We'd have to make room for him though.</div></div>
Logic is good. Thanks for your intelligent response.
The Leafs could likely keep him too. He is an effective player. I just don't want to overpay to keep him as a 4th line guy and I like the idea of more snarl on the 4th line.

Likely a pretty easy no from both teams.
They could do A LOT better than those packages if they want to move those guys.

trade deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rgwhite17</b></div><div>Hey I get it, I’m just saying did you have this same take in December after Jack was on fire for a month and covered up any issue the team had?
I would love to see the team with normal goaltending for a month again and try to figure out what they really are, unfortunately there isn’t that kind of time.
I think their best bet is try to convince MAF to come, hopefully get him without trading a first and pray that him or campbell can get it done in May.
Then we can go back to worrying about if the star players can score or not.</div></div>
Hope isn't a plan.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rgwhite17</b></div><div>I understand it’s easy to get frustrated and lose hope but would you feel this way if they had league average goaltending the past two months? Heck even the last 3 weeks and they most likely have at least 6 more points and are right there with Florida.
I understand they have issues everywhere in just saying.</div></div>
I'm not frustrated. I know exactly where this team stacks up.
The goaltending has been terrible but, there are deeper issues here.
This group, as assembled, (forget the goalies), is not a winner. The sooner they recognize that, the easier it will be to build one. They have the assets to build one properly. They just refuse to do it.

I'd actually prefer to see this team become sellers instead of buyers at the TDL. They aren't going anywhere this year.
I don't see expending more future assets now to have two playoff games of revenue as a smart move.
It doesn't really matter though. We all know what is about to happen.
Sometimes the best trades are the ones that you don't make. Recognizing that this team is just not built to win now might be their best option to win in the future.
I digress.... Its like watching a car crash in slow motion.

Very fair offer. Arizona would be foolish not to take that were it ever on the table.
The Leafs can most certainly afford another "highly paid right D" if they did the right thing with their other underachievers currently on this team. They won't. Far too enamoured with their own.

How much will Bunting cost
He's on pace for around 65 points. If he continues to produce those numbers next year as well, you can look at Zach Hyman as a pretty decent comparable salary wise.
Bunting will be younger than Hyman was when he signed with the Oilers and plays a similar top six LW role.
65+ points gets you 5+ million dollars in the NHL with relative ease these days.

Sell the farm for Gibson
Drafting Gibson in 2011 over Tyler Biggs would've been a better course of action.
They needed a goalie. One was available. They took some beefcake clown that has never played a game in the NHL.

Leafs to the Cup 3
Arizona definitely declines. That is a brutal offer if there is a retention included that they'll be paying for three more years.
Its not a good enough offer for Miller with a retention. Vancouver could do better and they will when he is eventually traded this season.
I'm not big on the Seattle deal at all. Larsson would be an upgrade over both the guys leaving in the deal but I think the Leafs could do better.
