Ottawa aint doing that. It would be the rangers paying to move him. Stephan has 1 year left on his deal while Deangelo has 2. Ottawa would therefore have to hold on to 4.8mill for an extra year. Deangelo at this point holds little value as teams know the situation hes in, his attitude issues, and his off the ice antics. All that decreases the value of a player.

In general unless the rangers retain some salary and are willing to take on a bad contract (Ghost, Ericksson, etc.) just cant see Deangelo being moved

The only way to trade him and get anything back is to retain money, since every team already passed on taking him for free at full salary. Or take on a negative asset. They will probably just send him home and buy him out over the summer, it's so cheap.
