Guess there is a deal somewhere, but Leafs would be better in goal, but weaker other areas with Gibson's 6.4m (justified) cap hit.
With team able to protect one goalie next summer for the draft, there will be NHL competent goalies available via trade...much cheaper in trade costs and cap...though certainly not as good as Gibson

The cost has to be enough to basically stop the ducks rebuild. Gibson is the centre of the team going forward and theyre building around him so you’d basically have to make the offer irresistible. Which in turn makes it not worth while for the leafs. Not saying Gibson should return 4 1sts and Matthews; but if you take Gibson from the ducks they basically are going to have be offered a trade they couldn’t refuse.

Their asking price and the amount that anyone's willing to pay are probably too far off. I personally think they should trade him, but I doubt it happens.

I was thinking about 2021 1st, 2022 2nd, and 2 prospects (Liligren + someone not named Sandin or Robertson).

Honestly though one of my predictions is Dubas may move on from Freddie and trade for one of Gibson or Kuemper. However this only happens if Anderson asks for over 6mill. As while yes Gibson makes 6.4mill he is 27 and on a good contract.

Based on what? I'm not saying he is or isn't, but to claim he's the undisputed best goalie in the league seems like a stretch.
