40 goals and 76 points last season, 42 goal and 90 point pace this season -- and he's a beast in the playoffs. Ehlers is a very good player, but Guentzel is incredibly underrated.

Even long term, you're hoping Dach can be 70-80% of Aho.

Agreed! Barkov is very underrated. I would pick him over a lot of the centers in the NHL.

Jake is clear cut better than Ehlers. Good players make other good players better. But of course, everyone on this site is anti Penguins so it makes sense

Criminally underrated. Everyone loves Ehlers for his advanced stats, but at the end of the day, Jake puts the puck in the net, and sets up more goals than Ehlers does. Atm he’s the better player

And yeah, he plays with Crosby - but I can't think of anyone who has been on Crosby's wing that puts up points and goals like Guentzel. Sure it's easier when you have Crosby or Malkin on your line, but it's not always easy finding that complimentary winger that can play with all-stars. Just look at McDavid -- they've tried a bunch of wingers with him and none seem to really work. So PIT is lucky with Guentzel and his sick contract.

Crosby makes anybody better, that's what a generational player does... not biased but facts
i know when i think of Guentzel i often wonder how good he'll be off Crosby's or Malkin's wing but thats just me

It’s not like Ehlers plays on a bottom feeder team. Sure he doesn’t have Sid / malkin. But Winnipeg has been very competitive for many seasons
