Top pair D, lets be more fair. But costs a ton and does have some injury concern, agreed.

not saying i wanna do this. But im not so sure rielly is better. WIth Lily too think it just means you have two decent top pairs and a strong 3rd pair. I see the argument for, but the proposed cost is also way too much to be worth it

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>I was never the biggest jarnkrok fan tbh .</div></div>
he's actually settled in to the 2LW spot well enough of late, I'm in the less popular school of thought thinking if we get another top 6 winger we should move someone down to drive their own third line kind of deal. Jarnkrok has been fine, and decently productive with those guys. Good defensively and especially of late productive in his role.

"zero production" - always good for 40 points, had 50 last year
in a world where maybe hartman isn't as incredible as you seem to think, and has had just one outlier season. Coach seemed realll pleased with him last game. Good player, but he's somewhere in-between his career averages and his season last year
I agree maybe the 2025 pick might need to come up a year but like I've also very clearly stated i know this whole post is not realistic. But i think your valuation of all players involved is simply not accurate

What does Bonino add over Engvall these days? Moves one of Kampf or Holmberg out of their natural position AND we pay the 3rd. Nah.
Barbashev - like I guess maybe if we can't do any better, but aside from the one outlier season last year what makes him an upgrade on Jarnkrok? I don't know about that one either. Both defensively reliable, same number of points yet Calle has played fewer games

that's a stretch. Kerfoot isn't a cap dump, defensively reliable winger, can play C, can play any line 1 through 4. Simply not the case. Why does the C/LW prospect do nothing for Minny? Not saying this trade is great and minny must accept, but I think your valuation of the players is very much off

maybe, but I don't think this is out of realm. 2023 First + our 2nd best prospect + our 3rd or 4th best prospect + 3rd rounder isn't nothing
And again maybe to Kuz too but we have no idea, I've seen reports that they still might wanna keep Bo but that would mean not keeping both, maybe they don't want to get into another long term deal that has flop risk, maybe they retool and ship him off, again not unreasonable to suggest that they consider moving him

so we do need a 2nd line LW, that bumps jarnkrok down and puts our bottom 6 right in between those two teams bottom 6's

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>Was looking at comparables for what we could trade for Nick Bjugstand and Noel Acciari and I got concerns
As it seems the highest comparable is Jarnkrok who went for a 2nd + 3rd + 7th and he had 12 goals and 14 assists in 49 gp
Bjugstand's got 11 goals 9 assists in 44gp
Acciari got 10 goals 8 assists in 45gp
Others had between just a 4th or a 3rd and 5th
Hopefully price wont get there as I would like to get both and another piece</div></div>
good thing we don't need either of them

its how many spots in the draft each team moved up/down, organized by each draft, and then their net gained/lost position over that entire timespan is the far right column
playoff teams have blanks because their position cannot change, since they aren't a part of the lottery system.

Meier just makes their top six even more expensive. Maybe someone like Barbashev or Gudas would be a better buy.</div></div>
gudas isn't an improvement over either of those Dmen. Leafs are among the lowest goals against teams and Gio-Holl has been a massive reason as to why. Getting another scoring threat is a greater need for us than a defenceman this season.

Leafs need to stand pat
wdym imagine? Their D is worse than last year. It came down to one goal last year and they lost McDonaugh and Palat, why should we be more worried about Luke Schenn?
Not to mention the improvements on D and in goal we've seen from Toronto this year.
And why is Jordie Benn in for Timmins and Holl (2nd biggest minute muncher on team, arguably has been most trusted defensive player on team this year)

Lehkonnen and Manson 2
Holl is the 2nd biggest minute muncher on one of the top defensive teams this year. The pick should be going the other way for us to swap for Gudas. No thanks.
Also waaayyyy too much for Barbashev. 3rd is right for Acciari and 1st is too much for Barbashev.

Filled in the blanks with an interesting idea.
And u might be going why Trenin hes got less goals than Kerfoot. Well Trenin seems to be a playoff performer.
Like 3 goals in 4 games for a 3rd/4th liner aint to shabby. Kerfoot had 1 goal and assist in 7 GAMES
Bjugstad has 10 goals and 7 assists rn. Other guys to consider Noel Acciari and Nick Bonino who also be good for the 4th line.
Henrique is the one people gonna go huh but this man seems to have found life on the LW. Put him with Marner and this man could reach for the stars. Also can play C in the event Matthews or JT get hurt</div></div>
we have so many NHL forwards we don't need a 4th liner. Like not at all. 3rd liner maybe if its cheap but Jarnkrok sliding down already helps out a lot

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MitchJr</b></div><div>I’d play following pairs:
Reilly Mayfield

Holl as #7
Team D looks good so far in reg season but also looking like we’re 90% to play Tampa in 1st round. I like Holl, and it’s great to have depth, but he’s just not physical enough. We know playoffs are a different animal.
I don’t care about the cost - trade all our draft picks if needed. But agree we have to target the right players to give us best chance to beat Tampa and then bruins, etc.
I like Mayfield b/c of his cap hit, his physicality and he’s a right shot and correct style to play with reilly.
But if we can get him cheaper 🤞</div></div>
physicality was not a very significant factor in the loss to Tampa. Luck, and a bit of depth scoring and a bit of goaltending issues were factors. Common Leafs talk buzz word, but wasn't really an issue.
What REALLY makes Mayfield all that big an upgrade to Holl? It's a marginal upgrade at best (some may argue no upgrade at all). And we have a 7th D with 10 points in 13 game while being fine defensively, I think that'll do.
