Nice Job! I would replace Lafleur. He have been really dominant but on a 6 year span. To me Mike Bossy must be there, is goal scoring average is just outstanding. If he hasn’t had back and knee issues he would be at the top of the goal scoring list all time behing a healthy Lemieux ( who before is return in 2000 had a ridiculous .84 goal per game average.)

I think Coffey should be in the lineup, but it's an incredible team--stick tap for giving respect to Sid/ovi even though their careers aren't over yet...
Are the lines more like rankings/tiers or best fits?

Only thing that bugged me is that half of the team or more got the same rating (96),

I'd put McDavid in as a scratch. I know he's super young but he deserves an honorable mention as he likely will end up being as good as those legends.

Thanks for the feedback! You’re right, Bossy’s goal scoring rate is absolutely ridiculous. If he didn’t get injured he’d be the top scorer of all time for sure. Based on the stats, I’d easily take him over Lafleur. I just couldn’t ignore the fact that Guy was so dynamic in his prime & was the best player in the world. Honestly can’t go wrong with either.

Thanks for the feedback. The lines are just best fits, I put Gretzky with his idol Howe, an all French second line, Sid-Ovie third line & stuff like that.

Can’t say better then that! Probably a dozen of players could have made that list. Every one of them had dominate in their own ways but their only 23 spot on a roster.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, the ratings were kind of iffy & not the most well thought out part I must admit. It was tricky since some players like Yzerman & Messier were more complete ability wise than Ovechkin & Lafleur, but most people rank the latter higher in the all time list because of their legacy. So I felt it was more convenient to just give them the same rating.

Yes you are right.

McDavid is the most talented player to ever play in my opinion, although a part of that is due to progression of sports of course. When all is said & done, he should have a spot in the lineup no doubt.

I think that Messier was an all-time great, Gretzky said he was the best player he had ever played with.

I like it... iI would think Morenz belongs in the lineup but honestly it's a coin flip between him and a guy like Hull. Well done (and I subscribed too).

I don't know how popular of a take this will be but I don't like all time teams because, technically, if you want the absolute best hockey players on one team, majority of them would be relatively current. If you want the legends who dominated their time, then thats a whole new team. I think it should be separated by legends teams and by best hockey player teams, one of which would obviously be mostly older players, and the latter would be much more recent and would probably include guys like datsyuk, malkin, Kane, mcdavid, kucherov, etc.

Yes I agree. The game is much more developed & advanced in terms of skill & talent than ever before, so if we are at looking at a team with the best players, we would have to pick specifically from the last 15 years. I think I should’ve made the title “Legends Team.”
