yeah definitely read it originally as Winnipeg adds a 2nd round pick (37th OA assuming) to Kupari to get back the Dallas pick #64. Wording is key lol

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>So what do they do with him? Wait six months? That is a lot of cap to keep on the sidelines. There should be some sort of negotiated mid point.</div></div>
If you mean Nichushkin, they can use his cap space if they choose. Everybody thinks he’s coming back in November and that isn’t necessarily the case that’s just the earliest he can apply for reinstatement. Personally I think he has played his last game in COL, and at the most recent presser CMC talked generally about it. I think they were looking to terminate his contract before they found out they couldn’t. So I think they are going to use all of his cap space. Landy is different. He was at the presser and he said his come back time was some time between the start of the season and April so I think they use some of his money but not all. That’s part of the reason I don’t think they trade Colton, he plays center and if they have to they can play him at wing in the top 6. Regardless I think COL is shopping at the prove it bin again looking for guys that want to win or want a second chance. The good news it’s wingers they are looking for and not centers like season.

I honestly believe it's gonna be Laffy. He's younger than Fox and I think the team is gonna try to name a captain that'll be the captain for as long as possible

Yet to hear good reason for NJD to break historical norms and trade 2nd pick
I would want to trade the 2nd pick for an elite forward like Kaapo Kakko
He showed up big for the Rangers in the playoffs, especially in that game 6 elimination game

I made a perfectly fine proposal, not my problem
They'll keep him until he actually publicly wants out and likely get less than this anyways

World Cup Preview
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rajvinder</b></div><div>1. This is a trade their new coach would want. Management wouldn't have hired him if they were just going to force a team on him that he doesn't trust. This trade gets accepted 10/10 times if offered by Treliving.
2. This 2nd won't help you in the slightest to acquire any of the top goalies on the market (Saros, Ulmark, Markstrom). All of them will require your 1st and/or top prospects.
Insinuating that a 2nd is a major asset to acquire a top goalie is genuinely a shocking statement. Destroys any credibility you might otherwise have.</div></div>
I can promise you roster construction was discussed in the interview. That second round pick <em>is</em> a major asset in acquiring a goaltender. No one else will pay a first round pick for Ullmark or Markstrom (find a team that’ll do it), so why should New Jersey. I advise you stop with your Toronto main character syndrome where everyone who plays for the leafs is worth their weight in gold.
This trade is an outrage.

Since the player projected to go 2nd OVA is basically just a younger version of Anderson who has not proved anything to date? To me (and this is just my opinion here) Anderson would have more value than Slafkovsky since Slaf only has about a 10-20% chance of being better and a 50-60% chance at being the same player as Anderson and a 20-40% chance of not being as good. Anderson is already established and Slaf has 5 goals in 31 games in a men's league. How do you plan to suggest to Hughes that he should move Josh for a player (12 OVA) who has a 50% chance to be no more than a 3rd line player and a 50% chance of not even making the NHL? If Anderson is the player Slafkovsky could "potentially" be, why doe he have less value in fans eyes?”</a></div></div>
Classic delusional bias post from Campabee. Nothing new here

Doubt NJ would give up #10 overall and I personally think that's an overpay too, 2025 1st would be more likely

Guarantee Sweeney would take this in a heartbeat. Cap space plus a premium prospect would be the ideal outcome.
To make the pitch for Ullmark over Markstrom, only thing I can really point to is age. Being 4 years younger could make the loss of a high draft pick a more palatable longer term investment if he was willing to re-up. And from everything Ullmark has communicated through media, he seems to want stability and success. Jersey seems primed to be a really good team for a long time once they get their goaltending sorted, and with Keefe as the new HC, I think they're really well positioned.

ANA sounds very unlikely

So Utah, Ottawa, Seattle, Calgary range perhaps. Or maybe one of them jumps Utah to grab him at #5.</div></div>
I think Monteal would take Demidov at 5 to be honest.
Just my opinion.
They need ONE THING: elite offense.

At least to me, Levshunov does not look like a #1 D. He looks good at most things but great at nothing. Not the kind of guy you take with the 2nd pick. Demidov's skill is too much to pass up. Hawks do have many small ish forwards but Demidov is clearly BPA and that is what the Hawks' GM said he was going to do
