Ullmark return is apparently underwhelming
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JuanDamienNebraska</b></div><div>I can honestly see the trade being Ullmark for Chychrun, one for one.</div></div>
I think adding a mid-pick (3rd/4th) from Ottawa's side makes sense. Both guys on expiring deals, but a starting goaltender (which is what Ullmark would be for Ottawa) is a more valuable position than a 2nd pair LHD.

Swedish players needing a fresh start
I dont really think a fresh start will help ****emo.
I think hes just one of those guys that just thrive in the AHL, but cant translate the offense to the NHL because the rest of his game gets lost.

I went back 12 pages and found 3 Marner to LA trades</div></div>
value-wise, in a vacuum, probably not.
but you have to also remember the Kings have literally made every move possible to get Clarke on the team.
Traded NHL Dmen like Walker, Durzi. Traded RHD prospects like Grans and Faber. Potentially letting Matt Roy go (even though they have money now to give him a very fair 5x5 deal)
Every indication is this guy is going to take over from Doughty in a year or so when his play starts falling off from a top 10 HM Dman.
We're not giving him up for a soon to be 11M+ winger who marginally improves our team (offensive stats are overrated in Toronto vs LA).

Yeah even at 3.9M, thats too much money for someone who seems to be on the down slope of his career. 24 points in 63GP is low end 3rd line production, we can probably just internally promote someone younger on an ELC to produce the same amount while providing better forechecking/defensive coverage

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Robinho3799</b></div><div>Add Kuznetsov to the LA trade and you have a deal. We change the 6th to a 4th rounder</div></div>
I wouldnt do that for the Kings. Kuznetsov at 7.8M and Necas at somewhere in the 6-8M range depending on contract length is a looooooot of our remaining cap space spent for like 80 points. I think we'd just be better off keeping Moore and signing another top 6F in free agency and still have like 4-5M left over to spend else where.

How far off is the value here? Difference between 31oa and 7oa is like 11-12oa, how much more is Konecny worth?</div></div>
Imo Korpi is on a terrible, terrible contract and he was one of the worst goalies statistically last season. It'd probably take the 39th pick (maybe even another pick, or a higher pick) to dump that contract. Plus Ersson was a solid goalie for the Flyers and they're not in any rush to move him.
I think it's gonna take quite a bit more to move a bad goalie out and bring a decent one in on the same trade.

Marner to LA
i dont care what the point difference is between Kempe and Marner, I'd rather have Kempe 10/10 times. Steps up in the playoffs, has a physical edge, and lets be honest. Marner's points are inflated because of all the offensive talent he plays with, wouldnt be surprised to see him hovering around 80 points in LA due to playstyle.

Kings pass on the 1 for 1. Have some health concerns about Glass, and he's already 25. Development has likely stalled, whereas there is a better chance Kaliyev still has more to give.

Seeing reports now that Arvidsson will test free agency anyways, so I dont see him coming back now.

Ideally we find a place for Gavrikov to move to (he's unlikely to get re-signed beyond this season, so even if he has an NMC he should be considering teams that he will want to move to anyways for the near future)

I mean really if that's "one of the most physical players" on your team, maybe your team has some other real issues.
Either way, at 5'7 no one is giving up a 4th for him. Hell you are dumping him on "any team" for a 4th.... I mean that kind of says enough doesn't it?</div></div>
We arent dumping him? He's a RFA that will probably cost too much for us because like I said, he's a good 4C for any team that has extra cap space who can afford him. We have enough young players that need NHL minutes so for cap saving reasons, we'll try them instead. If we had cap space to say "here, take 2M+" without blinking an eye, we'd probably do it.

And thats a big problem I have with our organization. We watch this dude play all 87 games last season with some of the worst individual metrics in the league (among playoff teams) and we want to run it back with him. There's a reason why Colorado won the cup with him in the org as a 7/8 guy.

We had no problems signing Byfield long term (around 8M) before the PLD trade, and now that move clears up another 3.25M for us. We'll have space for any ridiculous offer any team throws at him.

LA losing both Lizzo and Lewis means the 4th line will need someone defensively responsible and can play some PK time on the 4th line, that isn't Jeanot.</div></div>
There is still a possibility that Clarke isnt ready for all 82 games next season, defensive depth is needed. I'd MUCH rather have Perbix as a 7D than Englund/Moverare.

Yeah sure it saves Vegas cap space.. but none of the pieces in return do anything for their lineup. So now they have replace these guys, which ends up taking up similar space. Roy is on a very team-friendly deal, they won't be super happy giving him up.
Besides, I think the Krebs train has passed the station, especially in Vegas.

Teams will easily be offering a 3rd for Kaliyev, why settle for a 4th?
Kubalik isn't even a RFA, and hes nowhere near good enough nor in demand to be included for UFA rights.
A very late 1st for Moore doesnt make sense for the Kings, we're not rebuilding. Moore is currently one of our better value signings (non-ELCs) on the team. You'll have to overpay big time to even get Blake to consider.

Thats what I figured. Most offers I have seen for Kaliyev are in the 3rd round range (obviously Chicago's own 3rd is higher than most). So I added a pick swap that will very likely favour Chicago in a year they'll still be rebuilding anyways.

If you're not retaining on Skinner, I don't see why the Kings would retain on PLD.
Besides, I don't think the Kings do it even considering no/matching retention. Don't really need an aging winger whose production is starting to fall off already.
