Akil Thomas isn't for sale, the other two are. But LA aren't interested in Perbix or Jeanot.

I disagree that LA wouldn't be interested in Jeannot or Perbix, but completely agree that Akil isn't going to be moved. Take him out of this trade, and LA would hear OP out. There's no reason to include him, value-wise anyway.

The reason LA would be interested in Perbix lies completely on whether or not Roy is re-signed. If Roy leaves, Perbix could be a decent cost-effective 3RD with Brandt Clarke moving into the 2RD spot.

If Roy leaves I think Spence will edge out Perbix by a lot, he was one of the best performers in the playoffs and can't seek arbitration this year.

LA losing both Lizzo and Lewis means the 4th line will need someone defensively responsible and can play some PK time on the 4th line, that isn't Jeanot.

It comes down to a stylistic question. Hiller and Blake have both preached that LA is not going to move away from it's defensive structure. So I just don't see a way that LA goes into the season with Clarke and Spence both taking right side slots. It completely goes against the philosophy and style the Kings have played and built up.

As far as the 4th line, I agree somewhat. But there's 3 forwards on that line, not just Jeannot. If a guy like Lewis is brought back then he can anchor that line defensively.

There is still a possibility that Clarke isnt ready for all 82 games next season, defensive depth is needed. I'd MUCH rather have Perbix as a 7D than Englund/Moverare.

I think we will continue to have a shutdown to an offensive dman, If Roy moves on, Gavrikov, Englund, and Moverare all play shutdown roles to compliment Spence and Clarke on the right side. I think LA needs a bigger improvement on the LD3 role, but that role should also be able to play both sides for PK situations.

We have to see what LA does with Grundstrom, but I have a feeling Lewis goes home to Utah as the hometown hero. LA needs physicality, defense, and PK for our bottom 6, hoping we address that or we aren't setting Kuemper up for success.

The problem is Englund was already a 6LD for this team and trusted under the current coach, not sure he'd be pumped about losing him to waivers to take a risk on someone who has played even less ice time and doesn't play a shutdown role.

And thats a big problem I have with our organization. We watch this dude play all 87 games last season with some of the worst individual metrics in the league (among playoff teams) and we want to run it back with him. There's a reason why Colorado won the cup with him in the org as a 7/8 guy.

I think LA will sign or trade for an improvement at that 3LD role, someone like Brodie or Dumolin has served the role as shutdown mentor to a young offense first defenseman. The real issue is Gavrikov and Spence strong enough to offset the huge loss of the defensive duo of Roy and Gavrikov. If you thought the OIlers were hard to play against before, losing Roy is going to make them so much tougher.
