Gotta be honest, not really interested in Sanheim at the moment. If the Jets are dumping Schmidt, it think it would be a lot cheaper to just pay a draft pick for future considerations.

Farabee's contract is fine and he has term left, but I'd rather look for a better top 6 option in the next few years, even if we need to limp along next year with a more limited top 6. I guess I'd rather keep the flexibility to nab a bigger fish in the future then hitch my wagon to Farabee, and that is doubly true if that is what it takes to trade for him.

Detroit is not a team ready to trade top prospects or their first round picks yet.

Winnipeg days no. They have no need for LHD. You're about 3 years late with this trade.

Let me repeat (I have it saved for easy cut and paste):
Laughton never was, isn’t and never will be worth a 1st. Truly preposterous 😂

It would probably take that Habs 2nd to dump Schmidt.

A buyout doesn't look too bad especially if we get another good jump in the cap in 2025 too.

Gonna be honest chief, Briere doesn’t offer or accept any of these trades.

A 1st wasn’t good for 3 straight years for Laughton.
He wanted a 1st for Sanheim last year and he just had a career year so I’m sure his ask would be even higher.
He wants a hockey trade for Farabee for a young center with top 6 potential.
Wings probably won’t want to give that up.

not saying that Jets would do this deal but do you honestly believe the Jets don't need a LHD who do they have under contract right now?

I could see the Jets doing something like this if we don’t get a top-4 LHD in Free Agency, but I think the jets should hold on to Ras and see if he comes over

neither trade is great for the bruins, they have ullmark as a trade asset right now and farabee wouldnt fit much into Bos, esp giving that much up for him. that would suck most of our future/ trade pieces betting on 1 guy whos had 1 top6 forward production in his career and has been hurt a decent amount already. and Couturier makes even less since as he played pretty bad last year nd clearly lost a big step unless ur eating 40+% it would make far more sense to hold the assests and sign lindholm for 7-8M or Stephenson who will get around 5-6M or even packaging up ullmark and lysell to go get a top 6C or a young player they can let grow up with poitras who looked to be already a middle 6 guy at just 20.
also dont think the jetts would take that, schmidt only has 1 year left and hes not leagues worst then sanheim to make giving up all that really worth it for someone making 6+ for a long time when they have so many RFA and UFA this year and next year.
Det trade i dont think is bad value wise i just think its the wrong team, there not ready to give up a good prospect whos edge of the show and a first to go in when they havent even made the playoffs and are still building up there young talent.

Honestly they probably should but what they will do Idk, they seem to think they're contending so 🤷

Realistically they're pretty far from being a legit contender and it's so difficult to acquire top 4 dmen which is what they need more then anything, trading Ehlers for one if that is what happens is just filling one hole by digging another imo.

Personally I think they should just let DeMelo and Dillon walk and keep Schmidt, give Salomonsson a season in the AHL and maybe sign Miller, keep Stanley as a #6/7 guy. If the season is going poorly sell Pionk at the TDL.

JoMo-Pionk
Samberg-Schmidt
Heinola-Miller
Stanley

I know they won't do something like that but I just can't see how they can make the necessary upgrades to the defense to be able to actually compete for the cup. I think they're fukked... 🤣

I agree. I like Konecny, but we basically have the same player in DeBrincat, and we don't need another undersized right-handed winger.

And for Kasper and this year's 15th overall? That would be a hard No from me...
