Appleton isn’t any better than Hinostroza,
who we just inserted into the lineup in our top6 & he fit well
(Had a goal & an assist)
And if he struggles or gets hurt, we also have Asplund waiting to get back in the lineup
If we trade for a forward, it would most likely be a top6 guy & not a bottom6 guy</div></div>
fair enough we could argue Hinostroza > Appleton but not a big deal, I don't see Buffalo trading for a top six guy unless it's a young player with term on contract if they do squeak into playoffs they aren't going to make much noise their timeline is a few years down the road.

Because Tuch is injured and you need a body to fill a RW spot and Appleton is a decent bottom six player to fill in with the rest of your RW moving up a spot until Tuch returns as I don't see Buffalo trading for a first or second line RW in the meantime, but maybe there are better options I don't know.</div></div>

If that is the Habs offer then Jets keep PLD and trade him at 2023 TDL or 2024 TDL to a contending team (they'll get more than that as a rental) and Habs will have to risk PDL changing his mind if he ends up in NY, FLa or LA. liking it there and signing long term. Habs maybe fine with that too. TBH as a Jets fan I hope the Habs loose interest in him and he ends up getting traded to Phoenix, Dallas or Buffalo spends the rest of his career bouncing around and never ending up a Hab.

I expect Anderson to be re-signed for about $2.25 million and Durzi to go for about $1.25 million. The forwards should aggregate $3 million. Bingo! But we could move Sean Walker for cap space.</div></div>
Flyers could take Arvidsson back as well for space.

We could afford Konecny, but he isn't worth all that by himself. And we don't need forwards.
We could do Iafallo, Walker and the first for Provorov. No other deal works.</div></div>
When I look at the kings they have currently $6,488,333 in cap space unless I'm reading it wrong

Back to playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>If the Jets are adding to Wheeler they need more than a plug coming back.
Not a chance the Jets sell that low on Scheifele. Winnipeg has absolutely no need for any LD. Especially an overpaid second pairing one.
The Jets have no incentive to give Dillon away for nothing. A 4th on it's own is plenty for pool party.
I don't think Ottawa needs Schmidt, but a 3rd is fair.</div></div>
While Scheifele would likely return more than Provorov your analysis of Provorov is garbage, if you think he is overpaid then Morrissey is grossly overpaid both have struggled since losing their defence partners that made them into top pairing Dman and I'd say Provorov has been more affected because of the quality of team surrounding him compared to Morrissey.

Stab at Giroux Deal And He Returns
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Giroux is nice but the Avs really don't need a lot for another forward. Besides if Colorado is the only team that Giroux will waive too, Avs, don't have to give up so much. If long time Flyer Giroux wants a Cup run, do you really think the Flyers will deny him, especially if they want to resign this summer?</div></div>
Avs do need another forward didn't 92 just have knee surgery? Even if Giroux says he will only go to the Avs that might take a bit of leverage away from Flyers but not too much if Edmonton, Calgary, St Louis start loading up for playoffs and Vegas starts to get healthy. Now they've given up a couple of assets with the Manson trade. Avs don't have a first or second in 2022 draft and Fletcher should get fired if he let's Giroux go for any combination of draft busts like Kaut, Bowers and Yost. I think I would have been ok with Helleson coming back to Flyers with a pick(s) but he is now gone and I have no idea how good Olausson or Behrens are maybe one of those guys in a deal might work. I'm sure Flyers goal is to get Barrons.

Avs in the playoffs
Kaut and Bowers seem to be past the stage of being anything more than bottom six forwards at best and Murray is a bottom pairing Dman. Flyers might take 2023 picks but it'll need to be better prospects going back I think/hope.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tsyls</b></div><div>I think that’s jets fans just being super frustrated with results. Scheifele is like that one girl you just are always going back to no matter how frustrating it can get. He’s a great offensive player but he’s just looked disinterested defensively as of late. Looks like he just doesn’t want to buy into the defensive system. We’ve seen him play well defensively but as of late he’s just disengaged. I think he’d benefit majorly from a change of scenery. He doesn’t fit the current system too well, a coach like gallant would be great for him. He’s awesome in transition.[/quote
Chipman has been too loyal to players, coaches and management, there has never been consequences on players that don't play defense, coaches got complacent, Huddy has been here since the start and defense constantly struggle. I'd be willing to keep 55, 44, 17 and 4 if Chipman would make some hockey operation changes and see what they could get out of the group but need to upgrade some on RHD and bottom 6 as well.</div></div>

I know you compared this to the Eichel deal but that’s basically comparing apples to oranges. Eichel was hurt, and wanted a controversial surgery. He also had publicly requested a deal and said he wouldn’t play for the Sabres again. That right there lowers his value a ton, not to mention there were 2-3 teams interested.
I mean look at what Arizona wants for Chychrun, he’s a LD, which is in less demand than a 1C in his prime at a reasonable cap hit with term left.</div></div>
Ya and after every Jets game fans says 55 is horrible defensively, isn't competing and him and 26 are terrible team mates. Same Jets fans sees trade on here for 55 and then all of a sudden he is a #1C in his prime with a great contract lol.

Ok I thought I was helping the Leafs out because almost every single Leaf trade I see on here involves Leaf fans trying to trade Holl and his contract, Leafs are running out of 2022 draft picks to persuade some to take it so they might have to trade a prospect and they are running a little low on those too. They have three of them right now and maybe more after the deadline. maybe they don't move theirs but it would make sense to move at least one for a roster player but I guess if they are only going to have 5000 seat stadium they don't need any NHL players.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jgimp69</b></div><div>He had a few bad years after losing his parter in Trouba (which was a stellar paring btw). Couple that with the Jets losing the rest of any capable defenders and pairing him with guys like Nathan Beaulieu, what do you expect? He never was a play driving top line defender but has steadily improved and is coming back into form. Although he will never be a #1 play driving DMan, him and Schmidt/Pionk and/or Demelo have been capable T4 defenders.
Jets desperately need a #1 defender but the Jets decline.</div></div>
Morrissey should be sending part of his paycheck to Trouba. Could be top pair dman if partnered with a true number 1 dman but on really good teams he is a 2nd pairing dman. Three things to win cup very good goalie, depth down the middle and big minute Norris type dman. Jets have two of the three. They haven't recovered from 33 quitting.
