Chicago can't decline that MTL trade fast enough. A late 1st isn't anywhere near enough to take on Josh Anderson and his contract.

Chicago declines the Winnipeg trade because 1. Winnipeg isn't moving him and 2. Chicago isn't throwing two 1sts at a player who is going to be in his 30s before they're competitive.

3.Hawks would not spend anything to acquire Savard
4.Nowhere near enough to take Campbell. Costs a 1st + Akey.
5.Don't see the Hawks spending two 1st's on Ehlers. Value is probably right but Hawks don't do it.

Value wise, it's fair. My understanding is this is an average draft with the talent falling off around 15 (which they say every year). The Sabres, at least in theory, should be getting a decent player at 11. I'm hoping they get yakemchuk or maybe jiricek, drafting centers or right shot d with size would be a good investment. I suppose if adams is gonna draft a smooth skating soft left shot d or an undersized forward- I'd rather they move the pick. I would say best bet with the package offered, is to look for a team without a deep prospect pool, I mean the nhl is different from the nfl, the later the pick, the less likely to find an impact player, not everybody is gonna buy.
