His comments at his end of season media availability had some hints of disgruntlement for sure. But it was a pretty brutal season in Chicago, so him being frustrated the day after 5he season ended is understandable. He definitely hasn't even hinted that he wants out though.

Hawks obviously decline. Even without any retention, that offer isn't close. Hawks aren't looking to trade Jones, so assuming Jones would even waive for Montreal, yes, the Habs definitely add.

Demidov seems like the obvious choice at #2. And that's probably who the Hawks should take. But the one thing missing from the prospect pool in Chicago is a skilled, big body F with top 6 potential. I'd think Lindstrom is at least on Kyle's radar.

Teddy needs to make other plans for Schmidt. Hawks wouldn't trade Guttman for that 5th WITHOUT Schmidt in the deal. Adding Schmidt increases the pick value significantly.

Turning every team into a playoff team
Hawks easily decline. They don't need a below league average goalie w/ 4 years left on his deal. And a 2nd doesn't come close to paying what it costs to move that contract.
Good luck making the playoffs w/ that goalie tandem!

Isles Realistic Retool
Hawks easily decline. They aren't giving up a 2nd for one year of Palmieri. Chances of him scoring even 20 goals next season seems slim. Guys who have career best seasons at age 33 rarely replicate that production unless they're named Ovi or Sid.

More ideas for a Kane contract
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LikeABoss</b></div><div>Maybe, but you also have to consider how good he's playing at that age. If he's over a point a game player, you're telling me $6M is overpaid?
You also have to factor that the cap will be pushing $100M, and Detroit could retain.</div></div>
Taking into account (1) Kane is still a point per game player at age 38, and (2) the cap is $100m, why are the Wings trading him? Are the Wings still not a playoff team at this point? Then maybe it would make sense I guess.

I just believe if someone is willing to give you a former 20 goal scorer who is willing the punch the face of anyone who takes a run at Bedard, you have to be all over that.
Foligno won’t be around forever.</div></div>
Yep. We have and we will.
That 20 goal season was a complete one off. I night be wrong, but I think Jeannot's shooting percentage that season was like 25%. Again, I watch almost every Tampa Bay game. The player he's been since joining Tampa Bay is a somewhat more offensive version of Reese Johnson, a physical player who hits everything near him and will drop the gloves (same as Reese). Jeannot will generate more points than Reese, but he isn't as good defensively and he doesn't kill penalties. Sorry, but a somewhat better version of Reese Johnson just isn't getting me excited.

Just what Buffalo needs. Another left shot D man. Gotta think that's an easy decline for the Sabres. Hawks would probably pay a 6th for Perbix. And yeah, I agree. The glory days are over in Tampa.

The Mangiapane trade to Utah probably has a shot at happening. The rest of these are all declined by the team not named Calgary.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JuanDamienNebraska</b></div><div>No. Disappointed because the players that CHI may bring in won’t be coming with the picks or assets that you expect.</div></div>
Based on GM Kyle from Chicago's end of season presser, it sounds like the days of taking on cap dumps might be over in Chicago. He wants the Hawks to take a step forward and be better. A guy like Sheary isn't helping w/ that. Honestly, if the Hawks took Sheary in a deal, they'd probably just buy him out. I actually don't think the Hawks make more than one off season deal. I expect them to target one or two top 6 caliber forwards in free agency who are willing to take a one or two year deal for big $$. Or make a trade to get a player like that with a year or two left from a team looking to create some cap space. Hawks roster is flush w/ guys to play in the bottom 6. They need to bolster their top 6.

Realistic summer and then TDL
With only one retention slot to play with, might be tough moving both Armia and Dvorak at the TDL.

Disappointed because the Hawks don't end up w/ Connor Sheary? I think both the Hawks and I will be just fine with that. Maybe you'd want him back in Pittsburgh for free?

Not sure which is funnier. That you think Hunt and Vladar return a 3rd and a 4th or that the Hawks would pay a 2nd and a 4th for Mangiapane. Both of those are easy declines.

And I disagree w/ Snowhawk. Hawks decline. They aren't gifting Tampa Bay $4,6m in cap space for free. And Jeannot's only value at the TDL will be if the Hawks retain half on him. Besides, it's highly unlikely GM JBB just gives Jeannot away. Even if he is a constant reminder of one of the worst trades in Lightning history.

Moving dead money this offseason changes needed
Hawks probably decline. I can see one of those two 2nd's going back to the Isles, but not both. Or just simplify things:
Lee, JGP and the Isles '24 1st to Chicago for F/C.
If the Isles really want Dvorak, I'm sure the Habs are open to a deal.

1 year deals to run it back
Gunler isn't an interesting enough prospect for the Hawks to take that last year of Kuzy. Make it a prospect the Hawks might actually want, and make the trade before the draft so the Hawks can then buy Kuzy out, and I think the Hawks would do it.

Chicago won't target or sign any of those UFA's you have signed and Entwistle likely isn't back either unless it's as AHL depth on a one year deal. Crevier is in the AHL too.

None of the teams not named Tampa make any of those trades. Rather re-sign Duclair than replace him w/ Perron. And this last crack still likely results in a first or second round exit at best.

Hawks probably accept. And can't see how the Devils make the cap work after extending Hronek.
