This is what happened last time Torts and Dubois were on the same bench.

Even if LAK takes a bad contract back in return, I don't think a team in the league is going to touch Dubois and that contract. Very expensive buyout in LAK's future, or they pay a ton to get some bottom-feeder team to eat his contract.

It was a terrible deal the day they made it and it looks even worse now.

Don't worry, Torts isn't long for Flyers. He's at it again. When the team doesn't meet HIS expectations, it's always the players fault. Torts loves being fired, getting paid and then sounding so smart on TV.

Columbus declines. There literally isn't a roster spot for Cam, as much as the fanbase loves him. We're talking about a mid-thirties guy who can't stay healthy and who's lost a step.

NMC Jully 1st, Kings are stuck with him the entire run and are not looking into a buyout. If Byfield takes his role as the 3C and moves PLD to the wing the contract is likely salvageable. Watched him every game, he's frustrating, but folks act like he can't play top-6 minutes and has zero compete. He can, but LAs defensive system is greek to him and we did him no favor with linemates. New coach or new system, he'll return to form, but still look lazy and make boneheaded plays.

The thing that's frustrating is he's going to be a 60 point player next season and people will say Blake is a genius for not trading him.

As much as I'd like to see Torts - Dubois round 2, I just don't want to see it in Flyers.

Sorry if it wasn't clear from my text above, Blake clearly indicated in his press conference he has no wish to buyout PLD, LA is not moving forward with a buyout of any type for him.

I guess as a Kings fan you have to hope it works out but idk how many more red flags you need to see before you wonder if maybe PLD is just a problem and he's not going to suddenly figure things out. You're talking about moving him to a wing and hoping he can score 60 points, for a guy you owe $8.5m for 7 more years. Yikes.
