If Foerster is what it takes I do it. Watched him all season, he's going to be a good player but won't reach Zegras level imo.

Get Lane To Chick-Fil-A
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>its not bro science. You're metabolism is the number 1 factor in weight gain. Hell they did studies on runners. They tested metabolism while they trained, and while they sat on the sofa doing nothing during their rest periods to avoid over use activity.
They used the breathing test for metabolism testing. You burn the same amount of calories. It's why exercise alone will never lead to weight loss. Diet does. Everyone who ever got shredded knows that.
But at the same time if your metabolism is high.....there is nothing you can do to lower it. So it's not a calories in/out equation.
Your body has a natural metabolism, it burns, and can burn a lot. Some people are naturally skinny no matter what they eat till their metabolism slows. Those are facts. Other people can touch 1 piece of junk food and balloon. It is what it is. It's why some people struggle to gain weight and others don't.
Your ideas about what these "kids" have going on isn't true. The NCAA and Team US provide everything for these kids. I had trainers and dieticians and sports psychologists when at bowling green and that was years ago. They don't have those issues. If they need help with a diet it's given, they will help them follow it as well providing damn near anything they need.
You think just because that's how it worked for you it's how it works for all. But if you've seen someone be able to eat like crazy and not gain weight you know that's just how it is.</div></div>
Sure metabolism plays a factor in how people gain weight I am not denying that, however everyone has a base TDEE they need for maintenance which accounts for metabolism. For example, a 5'11 165 lb male athlete training 2x per day needs roughly 3500 calories per day just to maintain weight at 165. In order to gain steadily 1-1.5 lbs a week they need 3800-4000 per day, 28,000 per week, and someone with a higher metabolism should be taking in over 4000 per day. Some people just under estimate just how much they actually need to eat to hit 4000 calories per day, especially when eating "clean" as people like to call it. 4000 calories per day is an actual insane amount of food when you are talking about grilled chicken, beef, rice, fruit and veggies.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>If you think he went to the US national program and NCAA and didn't hit the gym you are kidding yourself.
Eating more protein isn't going to help. Your body can only digest so much of it and then you just pi$$ it out.
You'll waste more money than you will grown.
At 20, after years of trying it's probably high metabolism. Given he's not very tall.
Tall people can tend to have a very hard time gaining weight.</div></div>
I can assure you that is bro science. Its calories in vs calories out and focusing on taking in enough protein and carbs for his activity level. The Kid is not eating enough for his activity level for his body to properly recover AND build muscle if he is 163 lbs. I was 165 lbs at 5'11 at 16-17 years old playing hockey 5-6 nights a week. During college I focused on proper nutrition, compound lifting and got very serious about changing my physique. Within 2 years I was at 5'11, 205 lbs, less than 13% body fat. You can easily put on muscle at that age when you have the right nutrition. Problem is these kids are on the ice 7 nights a week + off ice training for much of their teens, throw schooling in the mix and there is literally not enough time in the day for them to figure out how to properly eat. He will most likely figure it out with the proper NHL strength training coach.

2024 offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>Why would Ottawa do that trade? Chychrun is literally out producing Laughton as a Dman.
Laughton will have some value to NHL GMs, but he's one of the most overrated/over valued players in the league. He puts up average to above average points for a 3rd liner, but he doesn't score a lot of goals, and he's a black hole in terms of actually driving any of that offense. He's also a horrendous defensive player. He's so bad lmao. Seems like a great guy tho.</div></div>
Agree, saw an Ottawa fan make that trade in another thread so copied it.

if they want a competitive rebuild
Honestly Sanheim has been pretty useful and reliable this year in most situations and really bounced back after a bad season last year. With what the flyers are trying to do building from the D out I don't see them moving him. I think they look to add on D if anything, not subtract. Bonk and Andrae are still a few years out, they don't want to have to rush those guys and Drysdale isn't ready to shoulder more minutes.

Flyers offseason outs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ujeje</b></div><div>I must be dreaming. Non Flyers fan who understands that Ristolainen is a lot better than his reputation.
And I'm sure no one is expecting same kind of return what we paid for him. And everyone also knows that he's not worth his current cap hit, but ~3,5M would be closer.
And your suggestion about Boston 2nd + Helleson w/o retention on Risto could and maybe should be something Flyers would accept if they're about to move him.</div></div>
Risto has played really well this year when he wasn't hurt. I think he still has positive value if they retain. I wouldn't even be mad if the flyers kept him, Torts seems to like his game, just not sure how the front office feels about him or the contract.

Chance of Farabee being moved is absolutely not 50/50. Despite what torts said he is still a good young player on a good long-term contract. Flyers LW is already weak and Farabee is the only top 6 Left handed winger on the team.
The rest I can agree with.</div></div>
Im super high on Farabee and I agree with you they aren't super deep at LW, but if he's the center piece of getting a potential 1C I see them parting ways. They recently have been playing Foerster on the left side as well.

Anderson Chychrun and Lundell Blockbuster
1) Flyers don't need Knight, and Ersson is already the more proven goalie. Ersson, Kolosov, and Fedotov all already over here no reason to bring in Knight now. Let Kolosov and Fedotov challenge Ersson for 1A 1B combo. To add to that Brink, Laughton, Zamula a 1st and a 3rd are more valuable than Lundell currently + a throw in bottom 6 player.
2) we aren't getting rid of Risto without retaining IMO. Too much term left. Montreal isn't paying a 2nd for him plus other assets without retention.
3) I don't think anyone is taking Atkinson, buyout incoming.

Missing a top line centre and top pair Right D
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SpiderSpiderSpider28</b></div><div>Sanheim at this point is 100% a RHD in our system. Even without a true high end 1D I think our right side is fine, the real question is getting a long term partner for Dysdale.
As for 1C.... yeah that's a huge problem. I don't even think they'll need a particularly high end one with Frost being a better 2C than he gets credit for and our winger core being so strong. I've gone on long tangents before about this, but if Zegras is truly available this summer, Briere can't afford to be outbid by WAS/MTL etc. For him. We desperately need him.
Looking at 2 years from now, what I'd kind of expect:
Foerster-Trade-Michkov
Farabee-Frost-TK
Barkey-Coots-Tippett
Cates-Poehling-Trade/FA
Trade/FA - Drysdale
York-Bonk
McDonald/Zamula - Sanheim
I think Andrae and Brink both end up traded and that we don't see anyone drafted from here onwards on the 2026 opening night roster with Michkov barring some crazy circumstances</div></div>
im high on zegras too, but I can't lie the season he's having makes me nervous to overpay for him.

no chance OTT moves Pinto with Norris injury concerns
EDM dont have the assets to acquire chych, OTT declines</div></div>
If Philly doesn't see him as a 1c they won't trade their best player for him. We need a 1c, we have Coots long term who can be a decent 2/3c, we have frost who is projecting into a very solid 2c, and we still have Laughton under contract who is a very capable 3c. We aren't giving up TK in a trade for an asset unless it projects to be a bonafide #1 center in the NHL for many years to come.

TK alone is worth more than that. They won't move Laughton for less than a late 1st early 2nd. So TK for pinto straight up is not enough.

Flyers are definitely interested, they want a long term D partner for Drysdale. I think they target him this offseason, they also see what our defensive coach has improved our D core. Jones has said they want to build this team from the D out.

Hes ok in his own zone, otherwise he wouldn't have survived playing for Torts in both Columbus and Philly, but his strong suit is his scoring ability. Torts actually loves Cam. He struggled this year offensively but in the past couple weeks is finding his groove again. Has 9 points in his last 10 games, could be great for any playoff team.
