c'mon, in MTL with the group he would do well, did well last year. This year is just a **** show synergy wise for the Leafs.

MArner is still a TOP 5 RW in the league and with him our top 6 is insane.
Ghule also helps Toronto a lot on their TOP 4 + Gallagher who will fight every night and a top 5 pick for a good ELC player, which they need.

Agreed. People are blinded by the leafs disaster if they’re claiming otherwise. St. Louis would revitalize him. He’d benefit so much by having Suzuki be the leader and getting to play with slaf. The leafs room just feels so toxic. Slaf and Caufield I think would do wonders for him personality wise.

I wouldn’t do it for futures though. It makes no sense for either team. Would definitely do a Matheson centred deal which would be smart for both teams. I think we have exactly what they need and I’d be willing to add (and Marner is 100% exactly what we need).

Guhle is a no trade guy. His defense is underrated, and the Habs will need a guy like him when they're competing. Habs have deep defense, but that's because most are good offensively yet struggle defensively. Guhle is a very good 2 way guy, amd ripping him away from this tight locker room at this stage wouldn't be smart. If the Habs really want Marner, they can wait a few years.

With how many 1rsts to cover up that Gally contract?

I don’t think Treliving will take any, he’s happy to have a playoff performer like Gally.

Trading Matheson is a dumb idea. You don't trade defenders that can move the puck with 62 pts in a season and making under 5M in a cap world.
The Leafs getting rid of that 10.5M is a win on its own and you want to help them some more? The best thing for the Leafs would be the let Marner walk in a year.
His NMC makes his value low.
