Yes, that's absolutely my belief.

He's a consistent drag on on-ice results when compared to his team without much reason for it deployment-wise (whether D partners or circumstantial deployment). Further, the results of his D partners are consistently so much better when away from him that it's remarkable (NST WOWYs). On top of this, he's 5'10, defends scoring areas poorly, and isn't even producing offense at an impressive rate at 5-on-5.

While this may be going too far for others to agree with, I see him as an outright liability and would need to be paid to take him on.

For your sake, I hope that Zellweger is much better than Girard

He’s the #3 dman he’s been the #3 dman even when Byram was here just by TOI. People on CF don’t like him because of his size but he is a top 4 dman on just about any team on the league, and he has been even better since getting out of the PAP. He is outstanding in transition and on the break out, and he plays very good defensively. I challenge you to just watch him for an extended time, he’s very good and teams pay a pretty penny to acquire dmen that are good can skate and can pass.

As much as I'd drool at the thought of taking Rantanen away from the Avs, if the Blues are going to blow out their wage scale they'll just snare him for free next summer.

Additionally he is in the first PK unit and second PP (for what that is worth). He also one of the most elusive players in the league so his smaller frame isn’t an issue except for clearing the front of the net.
