On value, Columbus accepts and potentially adds slightly. But come on, we have this conversation nearly daily: Montreal and Columbus have similar things, need similar things, and have similar desired timelines to compete, we're terrible trade partners.
We're not trading our top forward prospect coming off major shoulder surgery for another LD in a crowded defense room, especially with Mateychuk on the way up and Provorov and Werenski already here.
There's nothing MTL has that also fits a Columbus need (Suzuki, Slafkovsky, Reinbacher, or the 2024 MTL 1st) that they'd be willing to move. A KJ trade isn't happening.
