Trade Deadline - Possibility
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Suggestions709</b></div><div>I don’t think it’s farfetched to expect a 1st if monahan comes back and plays well and is healthy. That is still significantly cheaper than Horvat and Meier will cost and likely cheaper than ROR also. It’ll be interesting to watch how it develops</div></div>
He needs to come back and play to even entertain a 1st but he was at that level before this injury, just how it goes from here.

You don't get Meier without your top prospect going the other way, so say bye to Knies +++

Trade Deadline - Possibility
If Colorado is interested like the insiders are saying then it's because Monohan is coming cheaper then other rentals at this deadline.
They don't have the assets for Horvat, Meier or even ROR so it will be a B prospect and a pick for Monohan

Aquiring Josh Anderson at the deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>There is absolutely no proof that GMs value Anderson if there was no retention on his contract, or equally bad contract was returned (I'd be hard pressed to find a worse contract)</div></div>
Sure, as long you don't believe any of the people who work in the business who's job it is to talk to the NHL GMs about these kinds of things.

Doesn't matter, he is tall and can skate in a straight line really fast. Every NHL GM over the age of 40 loves those qualities

People on this site continue to hate the fact that NHL GMs value JA. Can't wait to see how mad everyone is when he gets dealt for positive value

Habs don't touch either of those trades with the train track distance between these cities

That's a helluva price for Meier but if they can resign him it's a win for both teams

Realistic Summer Re-Tool
Once again, MTL is not giving the Jets anything significant for PLD.Il they want him they can sign him as a UFA, they'll have top end prospects and cap space to do it in the summer of 2024

Meier and Gavrikov
If it's Meier with an extension then Carolina is adding Morrow and likely another late round pick.

Massive 23-24
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DefenseFirst</b></div><div>Yes, but not because of value, but because teams drafting in the top ten shouldn’t be adding chychrun. The reason he is so valuable is his contract, which would be wasted on a team drafting that high.</div></div>
No, it's literally his value. This draft is deep that there's potentially a ppg player going to be picked as late as 10th overall. I'm taking that over Chychrun.
You are right that teams drafting this high wouldn't do it because of where the team is rebuilding wise but in the end there's multiple players in this draft that will be better than Chychrun. Hell Axel Sandin Pelikka might be the first dman drafted and he is projected to go anywhere from 8-14 and he may end up being better than JC.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DefenseFirst</b></div><div>Ya, that’s not getting chychrun.</div></div>
Chychrun isn't getting a top 10 pick in this year's draft. Let alone all the other pieces in this trade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>T0R</b></div><div>5 years ago?, Vegas paid nothing to get 9 mil & 7 mil off their cap in the last 2 years as well as Columbus who paid a 3rd to get rid of 5.25 for multiple years. again what logic are you using?, retention isn’t that much & never has been. Stop with this “Leafs Tax”</div></div>
Every situation you just mentioned was for useful players, not dead cap space. Once again, if you want a team to just take on dead cap space you have to pay for it, no teams just gonna do you a favor.

In the unlikely scenario everyone walks by 2024-25
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheRealisticGuy</b></div><div>Depending if he wants to resign and what CGY look like
If they are a bubble team (CGY) we likely won't do that, but if the pick is a late-ish one, I could see MTL doing that</div></div>
If he wants to sign there though he will do it in FA. Habs won't be a playoff team so why give up a pick for him to play a couple months before resigning.

Teams always pay for money, Toronto paid a 1st to get rid of 6 million on their cap, this is no different

1-They can’t find any suitors for Drouin and Dadonov (and it would need to be for a 3rd round pick, anything under that isn’t worth retaining).
In a perfect world, MTL trade Edmundson & Monahan half retained + something like the trade above.
Next year you will only have one retention slot but that retention slot will be use on Mike Hoffman (we won’t have anyone to trade with retention)</div></div>
It's 2.85 million for TWO YEARS.....that's 5.7 million total. You're getting more then a 2nd round pick

But Provorov protesting something that isn't a choice and is something that should be openly accepted in this society isn't a piece of garbage because his religion doesnt support homophobia?
Every religion is anti war, but they'd be a piece of **** to protest it, guy protests something against his religion but isn't a piece of ****.
Your opinion openly claims you as a homophobe 👏
