Even with retention a bottom line forward for a 4th isn’t of interest to cbj.

Vlasic has less term. Sharks obviously stick with him over Anderson

When I see trades like your Harris idea, I just don't understand...
I don't agree with people's overvaluing of draft picks.

3rd rd picks have like a 15-20% chance of being NHL players. Therefore you'r trading a player with 10-15 yrs in front of him for 15-20% chance of replacing him....
Trading him for a 3rd (even a 2nd) in my opinion is moving backwards.
This is why VGK is killing it on the trades. They understand draft picks aren't as valuable as others tend to believe. Even if it's a 1st round pick.

No thanks on Armia, you'd probably get a contender looking for cheap depth to bite, but not a current bottom-feeder trying to sort though their own mess of bottom-6 forwards and prospects. Just the wrong target.

Coots was scratched for 2 GAMES for the first time in his career because he was overused early in the season and is worn down after missing almost 2 full seasons. Yes he has a lot of term left but he’s not damaged goods. He’s a solid 3c. Not saying the Flyers wouldn’t consider that deal to get out from under that contract, but it was 2 GAMES and people are acting like he’s Ryan Johansen all of a sudden.

Not to mention the scratching was mostly motivation for the team. Torts wanted the players to be fired up about it and angry at him. He is digging deep to keep the team motivated through the playoff push.

I don’t see San Jose taking on a contract with an extra year and is ultimately more money. Unless there’s incentive there’s no point

I’d do an Anderson for Vlasic swap from the Sharks perspective. It’s only 1 additional year and it’s a lower AAV. The incentive is that the Sharks can possibly try to rebuild Anderson’s value and then flip him for a pick while also helping to clear some of the log jam on LD.

Yes because the first captain being scratched since ed jovanovski (who had messed up hips) isnt a big deal lol.

Its a albatross deal. It pays him into his late 30s and is already struggling to be more than a 3c. He is being paid as a 1st liner.

2 GAMES!!!

Hes making as much as suzuki is. Its moronic to pay that much for a 31 year old with major injury problems and whos coach is questioning his effort enough to healthy scratch him

I can’t handle you mouth breathers who react impulsively to every single thing torts does. Again, he was overused early in the season and is worn down after missing almost 2 seasons. Is it a bad contract? Yes. But he’s not a worthless player. He’s still one of the best defensive players and next year Id expect him to contribute more. The scratching had more to do with motivating the team than sending a message to Coots and if you can’t see that you aren’t paying attention. And *spoiler alert* it worked.
