With all due respect, there is no way in the hottest depths of hell Winnipeg makes that trade. Kovacevic and Matheson are not assets that Winnipeg would consider trading that second, Lambert, and Schmidt for when they can easily buy Schmidt out

Don’t think St. Louis moves Kyrou for a couple of late 1sts as the best pieces coming back

That’s a really ambitious return for Savard. Especially considering what Tanev, who is far better, just returned (I know Tanev is a UFA but still)

You can probably get something for Anderson with half retention tbh

As I told canuck fans about Schenn last year I'll repeat with Habs fan and Savard this year NOT HAPPENING!!!
He's skates like an oak tree slightly better than Schenn (low extremely low bar)
Syracuse has several kids ready for promotion including Crozier and Thompson, on top of having Cernak, Perbix and Raddysh signed . They really don't have the cap to WASTE on him! Certainly not paying Howard++for him!!!!

Hawks probably decline. Hawks likely aren't taking on any deals of longer than two years for anything less than a 2nd. The retention makes it more palatable, but two 3rd's just aren't that desirable.

And Tampa Bay easily declines. Savard has nowhere near that kind of value.

With the context of what Tanev got (B prospect, a 2nd, a conditional 3rd), that Savard trade is way off.

Like Savard isn't worth Isaac Howard or a 1st round pick let alone both.

is grushnikov even considered a B prospect? I would say he is a C prospect, maybe a 30% chance of playing more than 50 games in the NHL

With all due respect, but the Jets owner has said they are in financial trouble, adding dead money to an already tense financial situation is not the best idea.

I disagree, Savard is seen as a true playoff warrior by GM's he will likely return a 1st (especially since that's what it would take for Hughes to consider moving him) if he is traded.

Anderson even at 50% retained ($2.75m x 3) takes a 1st round pick or 2 x 2nd round picks to move.

Jets aren't likely to trade Lambert, gotta think they see him as a future top 6 center, do like Matheson though and am still pissed they waived Kovacevic.. 🙄

I would say a Kyrou Trade is going to Involve at least one of Guhle, Reinbacher, Hutson, or Mailloux. Otherwise the main piece wouldn't be worth it.

Not a chance Lambert is available for an LHD with a bad contract and a 7/8D.

That "financial trouble," isn't going to be solved by trading valuable assets to get rid of "dead money." The team is going after more corporate sponsorship and is working on getting lost season ticket holders back in the seats. Bettman himself, also dispelled the rumors of the team being in trouble.

Hughes can set his price at a 1st round pick, but no one is gonna meet that. So Savard stays and MTL revisits trade discussions next season if it comes to it.

No Bettman said the team isn't going to be moved right now, that doesn't mean the team isn't in financial trouble and won't be moving in 2, 3, 4, 5 years or even longer. Look how long Arizona has been in the league even when they don't have the market to carry the team.
