Kuzmenko and Nylander are not even close to the same nor would Kuz directly replace him
Kuzmenko is a guy who thrives more in a sheltered role and is a PP specialist
Kuzmenko is basically 2 tiers below Willy
This season
Willy on pace for 43 goals and 73 assists 116 points in 82 games
Kuzmenko on pace for 20 goals and 26 assists for 46 points in 76 games
As the season Kuzmenko had last year was due to an abnormal shooting % year and now hes come down to earth. Hes a guy who frustrates Tocchett and while he would be welcomed is not a Willy replacement in the slightest
Let's be real...
Willy isn't getting another season like this one and he's going full throttle bc it's a contract year...
Last year and the year before that are better comps...
As for Kuzmenko, when you're in a coach's dog house, it's harder for you to play well...
I think Kuzmenko is a 20-30 goal guy when all things considered and if he were to be in a position where he could actually get his rhythm...
For the sake of argument, Nylander is a 30-40 goal, 70-90 points, Matthews and JT centre, no defence type of player
Kuzmenko is a 20-30 goal, 60-80 points, Petey and Miller at centre, no defence type of player...
Kuzmenko isn't as good, but he'd fit the role and would be 1/2 the cost...
