We read that VGK "were unaware the clause existed and had no record of receiving a list"
Yet we have the info on CF that OTT signed Dadonov with a 10 teams no-trade list.
That information was public (but the 10 teams in question were not)
VGK still managed to plead ignorance lol
Ottawa told Vegas Dadonov didn't submit his clause in time which would've meant he had no clause because he didn't submit a list by the correct deadline, the error is very much on Ottawa. Vegas knew he had a 10-team clause but Dadonov would've submitted that list to Ottawa hence Vegas asking Ottawa about it
I'm on OTT side in that it should be a 2nd rounder or later, or a financial penalty $$$.
The first rounders should be more for the CHI-type malfeasance...
This is just an accounting error among a bunch of crappy lawyers who couldn't for the life of them know how to throw a haymaker in blades - so they throw buns in a bun fight...
They've clearly made the rules as they go along and waited seasons to do so...

Andlauer seems pretty upset about the timing of the punishment and the Pinto investigation not being disclosed during the sale.
Couple of thoughts:
1) Yes he is right about Dadonov; that should have been completed early in the off season and not "inherited" by the new owner.
2) Dorion should face personal punishment by being banned from serving in a GM or Assistant GM capacity in the NHL for 3 years. This is negligence at best or an intentional act of fraud at worst; committed by him as the executive in charge.
3) That punishment should mitigate the team's penalty and reduce it down to two 3rd round picks; one each awarded to Vegas (priority) and Anaheim (secondary) as damages.
4) The Pinto investigation should NOT have been disclosed to him; as he was still a minority owner of a rival franchise (Montreal) during the due diligence process.

Good stuff HS,
I was just alluding to the "Daddy-ov" scenario, in my take,,,
Not Pinto - to me that's a sep issue...
So apparently Kent Johnson has switched agencies, and is now with CAA, the same guys who represented Dubois and S. Jones. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but...

This is interesting. I had a random trade thought last night about Elias Lindholm going to Columbus to be reunited with Gaudreau and Kent Johnson being part of the package going back.

I think Lindholm is gonna be dealt at the TDL to a contender but maybe he signs with CBJ as a UFA. They don't need to trade one off. their best assets when they can get him next summer for free.

With how CBJ has been operating they may either go after him or try for Nylander
As they have been doing win now moves with 0 results so far.
