These are some examples of trades for Pesce that I've seen here that I would be happy with. Now you may say most of them are overpays, but in my opinion, the Canes shouldn't just take any low ball offer.

They're in a position where, even if they can't keep Pesce past this year, they don't have to trade him. They're not rebuilding, they're a top 5 team in the league. And Pesce is an important piece to their defense core. They're not taking scraps. And being one of the longest tenured Canes on the roster, I think he deserves at least one more shot at a cup here.

Though, there's two scenarios where they should consider trading him. One, for someone who would be a major roster upgrade like Nylander. Or a package that includes some decent futures to maybe spend at the tdl to add to the forward core, and a solid young centerpiece to the deal that can be a part of the core for the future. Like Krebs, Bourque, Harley or Liljegren. If they can't get a deal like this, they shouldn't trade him, and they should be happy to keep him.
