One can argue who's better, Chabot or Nurse. Nurse has been healthier, where as Chabot puts up similar points in fewer games. Ottawa is hoping that since they have a good top 4, that Chabot will be healthier and more productive now that they don't need to ride him 30+ mins a night. Personally, I don't think Chabot is untouchable.
The main issue, as I see it, is the contracts. Nurse costs more, has more term, and he's older. Sens have no cap space as is, and will need to sign Sanderson. That Nurse contract willjust be an albatross, and cost picks to make go away. At least Chabot is younger, has shorter term during his prime years. Makes no sense to bring in a 9.5x7 D if he's not going to be your top guy (Sanderson is), and screw up your cap space.
