<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Echlz</b></div><div>We kind of do need to move Brannstrom though. If we don't move him and use just Josephs money for Pinto, we will still have cap problems and will only be able to roster a 20-21 man roster. Getting rid of both makes the most sense since it frees up around $5m and will give us enough to sign pinto and Bailey, as well as have a 23 man roster under the cap. Also, Boucher and Joseph doesn't move the needle, but adding Brannstrom will help so we dont have to give up a 1st or 2nd rounder.</div></div>
21 man roster is fine especially since we can run 11-7

Next year they will have: Stuzle, Tkachuk, Norris, Sanderson, Chabot and Giroux making 6 mill+. That's 46 mill wrapped up into 6 players... Toronto will have 4 and 1 is on an expiring contract lol... Again, Ottawa's top heavy and their top isn't as good as Toronto's</div></div>

Ottawa isn’t top heavy at all. Maybe their offence is but it’s way top less heavy than the leafs. And next year with a lot of cap space is when they’ll go crazy on getting depth

In 2 years. pinto will be a top 6 stud, Brannstrom will be a good #4.
Where will Laughton be exactly? Probably worse than his 3rd line current self

I just saw the last update 10-15 mins ago and they said another Sens young player for a veteran. It doesn’t sound like a Pinto deal

Sens want to keep him , he wants to stay. It’s just money at this point in a 1 year squeeze

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMDannyB</b></div><div>Any Di Marco and Ant San Philly are both the Flyers two most connected insiders and Ant San Philly said on one of his recent podcasts (I don’t remember which one and they are all over an hour long so I’m not going back to find out lol) that the top 6 is basically already a forgone conclusion for Torts and that any movement in the current team would be in the bottom 6 roster spots so yes it would be Laughton lol. It’s not going to be Frost, Tippet, or TK because they are all top 6 guys. I don’t think it will be Cates either but technically he is the 3C so who knows but realistically we all know it’s Laughton. Pagnotta reported around the draft that the Sens had checked in on Laughton so we know they like him and he was real close with Giroux. Like I said if Pinto is traded to the Flyers it will be something similar to:
Joseph Pinto for Laughton 2nd
Anything more than that you can just consider the Flyers off the list because they aren’t moving any top 6 guys.</div></div>
Well it’s probably what the flyers offered and the Sens laughed them out the building and didn’t bother responding

What price to Pinto
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tintin</b></div><div>They are all legit prospects and would be among the top 3 in the Sens prospect pool (that alone is not saying very much however).
But the thing is that if the Sens are only moving Pinto and not Joseph's cap also they aren't gonna get a very good return for Pinto given the cap-bind Dorion put himself in.
And other than RHP I don't think there's anything on this Habs roster that'd make sense for Ottawa to want in return for Pinto, again given the cap issues, and I'm not sure the Habs are moving RHP at all.
I'm not sure what you and OP expect to happen with Pinto but if he does get traded you best get prepared for an underwhelming return whenever that does go down.
Dumping Joseph's cap should be Dorion's priority right now and not looking into trading Pinto anyways.</div></div>
I’d rather keep Joseph he’s not a cap dump and will rebound. They’re not moving Pinto without legit pieces coming back. That’s like moving Mercer for plugs lol

What price to Pinto
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Echlz</b></div><div>Pinto was second line center and PP2 all last year due to Norris's injury. Playing with a better duo ( Debrincat and Batherson) than Dach was playing with since Caulfield was injured for half the year. Pinto was also a negative -21 on a far better team than Dach was on and playing against 2nd pairings and easier competition. I'm a Sens fan, and I like Pinto, but I am taking Dach over him any day and both managements would do the same.</div></div>
If you were a Sens fan, you wouldn’t be using those arguments? You really using the fact that he was -21? Lol his wingers were terrible and couldn’t defend and he still came out of it with very solid defence. .
