Yeah it totally isn’t the most common name for the best NHL players today… Nope can’t think of one good Connor in the NHL today
That's because you aren't paying attention! If you knew anything at all about hockey you'd know Connor Carrick, who singlehandedly spurred the Bruins to an all time best regular season record!
Actually curious because I thought there was a cap on bonuses. Is This all negotiable with ELCs? obviously the cap for 950, but I thought there was a max on bonuses?
Yes, there is a cap on bonuses and -- you guessed it -- it's $3.5M per season. I guess they're not required to disclose what the criteria are for meeting these bonuses, because you don't hear much about that, but of course I'm curious. As I understand it, there have to be at least 5 separate bonuses to make up the $3.5M, because $1M of it is Schedule A bonuses which are limited to $250k per bonus, so it takes four of those to make $1M. I don't think there are any such restrictions on Schedule B bonuses, which is the other $2.5M, but I'm no expert.
By the way, for those of you who are calling this a bad signing, the only guaranteed money is the $95,000 per year signing bonus, plus $82,500 if they send him to the minors. It's nice to see that the Hawks aren't betting too much on his ability to make the team.

Happy birthday, Connor!
I think there is quite a bit of sarcasm in here for anyone saying this is a bad signing. At least that was my intention.
