Peeke is not worth a 1st, Roslovic is UFA next summer and I don't like a small defenceman as the main piece coming in return (Mateychuk). Also, Lindholm is a much better more consistent player than Horvat., no one with any sense thought Horvat would ever keep up his pace from last year

Horvat is better than you think. He’s been stuck in a dead end team for a good part of his career. Peeke may not be worth a first, but he’s worth a 2nd for sure. Roslovic might be a UFA but the assumption would be that there’s a discussion to resign or flip at TDL. Mateychuk should be a top 4 guy but I get not wanting small. Good input. Still not far off.

I don't think Horvat is bad by any means. He just is a lesser player than Lindholm in every aspect, Lindy produces more offence consistently and is significantly better defensively. Horvat's ppg last season (in his best year by far last year) was still below Lindholm's average ppg since he came to Calgary

He sure felt the loss of chuckie and Johnny. I think we might see a more realistic version on Lindy now. He will still be good but not that 80+pt good

I doubt he ever scores 40 again, but I would guess he's a solid 30 goal 70-75 point guy for the next several years. Plus in this scenario he goes to play with Gaudreau again and Johnny's two best seasons came when had Lindholm on his line the entire year

Ideally I want a time machine so I can convince Tre to extend Gaudreau and Tkachuk in summer 2021 lol. But yeah I would like a rebuild and it's necessary, but the Flames are the most rebuild adverse team in the NHL and will continue to limp along like a wounded animal

They have some good assets to flip into 1sts and prospects. The rebuild would be fast
