There's not anywhere close to enough to dump Anderson there.

WPG wants Barron. Gurianov has a decent salary and is a big strong guy for some depth and Anderson takes over for Wheeler who hopefully the Jets can dump or buyout if they are smart. The 1st in 24 is a nice little bonus. Deal.

Nice when Habs fans realize a hockey deal is smart.

What's the point of paying to get rid of Cal Petersen's contract, only to take Mike Hoffman's almost-equally-awful contract back? That's the second-silliest idea I've seen all day. And Jake Allen has exactly the same cap hit as Cal Petersen if we send Petersen to the AHL, so the idea that we would accept a trade of one for the other is another silliness.

Chicago's GM would be fired immediately if he took that deal!

EDIT: And I am a Gallagher fan, but he has to prove he can still make magic happen.

Canucks decline. Too much cap coming back in players we don't need. Armia would be in the AHL, no interest in an injury prone LHD when we already have too many LHD as is, and Dvorak is the kind of guy we need to play 3C except we need him making $2 mil, not $4.5 mil.

Gallagher's contract is pretty much unmovable. There's no way Chicago makes that trade.

I believe it would take more to move Gallagher. Maybe add Calgarys 2025 1st, or Montreals 2025 2nd.

Not that i like the Trade but one would assume Term?
Hoffmans done after this year and can be moved at the TDL easily
That allows LAK some cap flexibility with Petersons AHL pay up another Million this and next year it provides actual Cash Relief too .
This aint the right deal but a different player in the same situation that can unburden LAK a year early of that extra year at 5m along with another 3.25/5m after taking on Eddy this year.
Thats before factoring in the loss of Durzi's contract at 2m QO but likely 4m via Arbitration he's eligible for

It would take More for him to accept a trade to
If he goes it will be to a team that needs him and plans on competing for a playoff run.
He will block trades to rebuilding teams IMO

I'd see CHI as 1/6 he'd block
I think where he'd be ideal is EDM
They have every other type of player but no one like him
But clearly capwise that'll never work.

VAN is in a position to do it but have no motivation or desire
Seattle could make some sense though as he fits the bill for their needs and style.
Its close to home /he grew up and he'd be a Leader there too

I dont know what it would take to motivate Seattle
But weirdly enough i think its the best fit for any deal with Gally

Hawks decline. They won't want anything to do with Gallagher and his contract. You could take out Zaitsev and the picks to the Canadians and the Hawks probably still decline

I forgot to mention in the trade CHI-MTL Montreal retained 50% of the Gallagher salary for all years of his contract.

Myers > Armia (because of term)
Garland >> Dvorak
3rd > Edmundson
Wideman and the 4th doesn’t make up the difference. Canucks pass easily

Garland and Myers, I think they are overrated. Garland is a third line player and Myers a bottom 4 on the blue line. They have both an important impact on the salary cap and Canucks will not receive the moon for them.

Garland is a good 2nd liner. They should keep him

I don’t think Myers is overrated because pretty much everybody knows he’s bad, but I’d rather keep him because he has 1 year left instead of taking multiple years of Dvorak and Armia

Maybe my trade proposal is not what they are looking for these players (Myers and Garland)... Well, I tried but one thing is sure. The Canucks are ready to do something big.

Myers is not overrated. He sucks and everybody knows it. He is still better than the garbage you are sending the Canucks. Garland and the 3rd round pick are the 2 most valuable pieces in this grade. Why is Vancouver giving both of them up?

They want to get better. This doesn’t come close to doing that
