Allvin laughs in your face and hangs up. No chance Vancouver gives up 4 1sts (and our entire future) for Marner. We have too much money tied up in the wings as is, and spent over a year working to clear cap space, eventually sending out Pearson and Beauvillier, with potentially more to come. The last thing Vancouver needs is more wingers, especially expensive ones that basically force us to part with other valuable assets as we won’t be able to afford said players.

That’s not how LTIR works. The Leafs only have $2.3M of LTIR relief left, so they would’ve needed either $1.5M in retention or to clear $1.5M off the books to afford Zadorov. They probably don’t have any expendable players they wanted to move to clear the space, so they opted to try for retention instead.

Canucks will probably end up buying at the deadline. I don't think they'll be going all in buying, more so just looking to make a few depth adds like this dealing a few mid round picks/low tier prospects. That being said, I don't think they'd do this deal. Kunin doesn't really fill a need (most likely Canucks would look to add defence), and I don't think he's worth a 3rd, but I'd definitely consider for a 4th.

Canucks decline. They have too many wingers as is, if there's a trade in Vancouver involving a winger it would be them sending one out, not taking on another one. Kapanen would probably end up stuck on the 4th line in Vancouver, if not it's because he's pushing someone like Garland to the 4th line instead. Neither situation is good.

If they part with a 1st, it's probably for a young LHD similar to Hronek as they already have Hronek/Willander for the right side top 4 but there's a spot available in the top 4 on the left behind Hughes.

Canucks don’t do either of those. No chance they give up 4 1sts for Nylander, not only would that destroy the prospect pool we’ve finally started to build up but on top of that, it’s an absurd price to pay for a rental. No rental has ever returned near that much value, why would Vancouver give up 4 1sts for 3 months of Nylander when they can wait 3 months and potentially have Nylander for 7 years for free.

He’s been scratched twice. Once was right after he took a 90+ MPH JT Miller one timer right off the face. The other was last night to give the lineup a new look. Tocchet did the same thing with him last year, healthy scratch for a game. He came back the next game and went on an insane stretch the next week. He’ll be back in the lineup tomorrow and probably bounce back big time, he seems to respond well to it.
