Bouchard has a very nice shot, And his confidence is sky high right now, earlier in the season he would have never taking that shot he would have passed it

Canucks defense is bad enough with 5 players on the ice. Can't expect much when there are only 4 players. Also PK is probably the hardest to judge a player individually because it is a total team effort. Might help to have actual good penalty killers for once

SJS are an incredible anomaly when it comes to PK. They're 6th in PK% despite allowing the 3rd most GA/GP. Amazing. Maybe VAN can hire the Sharks PK coach, or at least study their videos.

Oilers are the favorite to emerge from the West, imo. They're peaking at the perfect time. But, will their goaltending hold up?

Habs fans praying for two lottery tickets over the course of the season.
Seething right now.

Good for the Panthers and Zito on making it in to the playoffs after looking so far out of it only two weeks ago.

Also, interesting to see the Oilers being given the highest Stanley Cup probability.
I guess the east being such a gauntlet has quite an impact on the Bruins chances of winning it, according to MoneyPuck anyway.

He's 5th in points and tied for 12th in Goals. Probably will finish top 5 in Hart voting this year. His numbers are great but they're not MVP caliber this year or in recent years.

Hart trophy : the player adjudged to be the most valuable to his team. There is a strong argument that Tkachuk is more valuable to the panthers than any other player is to their team.

108 points in 78 games, leading the league in 5v5 production. The panthers play like a superteam when Tkachuk is on the ice , and they are below average when he’s off the ice. Can’t say the same about many other Hart Candidates.

The Hart is always interesting because for example if you look at McDavid, the argument could be made that Edmonton is still a great team without him on the roster. On the flip side you could say that maybe none of Edmonton's other players would be having as good of seasons without McDavid.

McDavid, Tkachuk, MacKinnon/Rantanen are the only real candidates IMO. I think a nomination or an argument could be made for Jack Hughes and Jason Robertson

I also think it's worth mentioning this --> Although they won't get nominated, there are a few players that have been instrumental to a teams success or "exaggerated success" in the case of Nashville or New York. Whether it's because of key injuries or flat out poor play from the rest of the team, I think Chandler Stephenson, Brock Nelson/Ilya Sorokin and Juuse Saros deserve some recognition for their outstanding play this season.

agree on the mcdavid point - there's definitely an argument for tkachuk to win it, but ultimately it should go to mcdavid,

1. Mcdavid
2. Tkachuk

3. McKinnon

4,. Robertson

Mine was:

Makar
Fox
Josi
Q. Hughes
Pietrangelo (expected a bounce back year)

I had mine along the same lines. Expected Makar to net somewhere between 100-110 points.

Pasta's 60G along w/ Boston's record setting season clearly place him #2. There's a group of 3-4 others that can go 3-6. Tkachuk is in that group, but there's gonna be a massive gap between #2 and #3 when the votes are tabulated, imo. Don't get too hung up on the literal definition of the Hart Trophy. For every Taylor Hall in 2018 there's many Draisaitl's in 2020, Matthews last season, etc...

Hughes and JR peaked too soon, imo. Both were in the top 3 at one point or another.

I feel like most of the pens fans on here are utterly in denial. Our team is done for and I think everyone who isn’t sticking their heads in the sand knows it.

In 278 min of ice time, the Ekholm-Bouchard pairing has a 62% expected goals % and actual goals are 26-8 in favor of edmomton. Might be the best top pair in the league right now. The Oilers have a Stanley cup level defense.

Elite minute munching two way D (Ekholm)

Elite offensive defenseman and PP QB (Bouchard)

Top pair defenseman to anchor the 2nd pair (Nurse)
