Columbus doesn't seem like a fit for Horvat at all, they're not making the playoffs and does Horvat sign there, who knows but the risk he doesn't isn't one Columbus can take.

I've said it before, but with the Jackets now looking like they're going to be in the running for a very good center out of this draft, I don't think it's wise for them to consider trading or signing one until after the draft is over. If they somehow manage to miss completely on all of the big centers in the draft then a center trade is back on the menu. That'd be after Horvat has already finished the year though so you're not gonna get much outside of a 4th for his negotiating rights from Columbus at that point.
