Rangers gonna package him off in a 3-team trade for Kane in which Laf and assets go to Chicago, middle team gets a 4th or 5th round pick, and NYR get Kane double retained

And like we saw with Dach Lafreniere will thrive in Chicago and make Gallant look stupid that is unless Kane helps the NYR win a cup

Then it becomes a ROR for Thompson like trade where both sides benefit

I don't really think that's gonna be the case.

For starters it makes sense for Chicago, so that's clearly not something what Davidson would do.

Plus Kane has been bad this year. I actually don't think he'll get traded at all - or rather, Davidson will likely overprice him. That being said, maybe someone desperate enough pulls the trigger, but I don't see there being a Florida Panthers of last year around this year.

I think that player would be Kane 75% retained this year, with a 2-3 years friendly extention because he play with Panarin.

Now, would NYR rather give their two 2023 1st for Kane and trade Lafreniere next summer because they can't afford him and Kane, or keep the two 1st and trade Laf for Kane?

I don’t know what’s worse, the Canucks as a whole, or that JT Miller contract. I’m so glad the canes weren’t dumb enough to trade Necas+ for him. What an absolute disaster that would’ve been.

I feel Pittsburgh would have saved the Canes and outbid for him as apparently they were the favs till Lou apparently got involved

But then we all know what happened

Media found out deal died GM decides not to circle back with the other guys and instead extends him

That's the mosty likely trade scenario imo.

Tho IMO Teams should just wait and Offersheet Chytil and Lafreniere. NYR will have a tough time keeping them. Teams should utilize offersheets more,

No. That high of Valuble assets typically dont get traded for Older rentals.

Also Kane hasnt been the same player this year (At least analytically he's horrible). I think he still gets a decent return because of his name but wouldnt expect to be overly wowed by any return.

I'd expect a similar return to what Giroux got. Who honestly I think is better right now

If Kane is worth two 1st as a rental, do you think NYR would rather give their two 2023 1st (top 15 protected) or Lafreniere?

Allvein in his first year made a pretty big error in judgement and this could really hurt the Canucks for years to come. But hey at least Horvat's gonna give them a good farewell present

Both have been on that level this season , cmon I know we had the Lundkvist/Rathbone debate - Lundkvist has played with Heiskanen, playing like a solid #2 defenseman. Chytil has been NYR best young forward, though that isn’t a high bar to clear
