Coghlan wasn't "a throw in" he was the sweetner to eat all 7 million of pacioretty. And Chatfield right now just looks fantastic. He's probably the 3rd best D man on the team so far this season.

You then say Bear ends up on waivers, except, if he was going to go on waivers, they'd have done it during the roster dump at the end of preseason to squeak him through. Bear would be the best RD in Vancouver by a large margin. He's a good player. Pearson on the other hand is a 3rd liner that plays a far less valuable position, is worse than Bear, makes more money, and is older. Give your head a shake.

No he's not he's their forward with the most average ice-time, he'd be 2C in Carolina and 1C on many NHL teams.

Try accounting for the lower taxes and a better chance to win a cup. Plus, Panarin turned down more money from Columbus to sign in New York. That's not a good comparable. Marner (similar number, different situation) or Gaudreau would be a better comparison.

Is Miller better than Petterssen? Yes. Is Horvat better than Petterssen? Yes. 3C. Kotkaniemi has played more 5v5 minutes this season than Aho (at least before the Vancouver game) that doesn't make KK the 1C

Pettersson is better than both Miller and Horvat, and Kotkaniemi gets less overall ice time because Aho is the 1C.
