It’s beautiful, I think Patty has OCD, he needs the cap to be absolutely perfect

Woahhhh, why is the Canucks 1st there? He is owed 1m in real money, and has more value than de smith and only a little less than harris.

(VAN/MTL) - Pearson, 2025 3rd (VAN) for DeSmith
It’s the cost of doing business. Would have liked it if it was a later pick but Canucks do well to person as his spot would have been lost to a younger player and get a back up. Not a great trade, but I’m not losing sleep over it.

Minnesota Wild signed Calen Addison (1 Year / $825,000 AAV)
Not huge on the player, but I was anticipating him coming in at 2.5m, at 825 that is a value deal and nullifies the negitive that his defensive warts bring

Retool for a year
I like Zadorov, but i think that the best way for the Canucks to move forward is to get younger players, if the nucks are going to move on garland we would probably have an ear towards a young defenceive defence man.

Ottawa Senators signed Jake Sanderson (8 Years / $8,050,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CBA</b></div><div>IMO Sanderson will be better than a prime Vlasic while being better offensively. He should be paid like a top 20 defenseman. And they are considering cap going up by a lot in the next couple years</div></div>
Oh its the bet you take, but if he blows the wheels off the season, this is still the contract he might get, I think that it would have been a slight reach but good deal if he was at 7.15-7.4, that would be a bet I am willing to make, there is a good chance he lives up to this, but he could also be a 2nd pair guy who has big lulls in his game. it’s just a low upside bet but high risk. I just think that at best it is a market contract

Look at team surrounding them, one team has been a shoe in for the playoffs, the other was fighting for Bedard, you could play around with the advanced numbers to show anything you wanted. Keep in mind, pending UFA and pending RFA have 2 very different trade values

Would be surprised, with the cap going up and with him getting a real centre, he wont need an asset to dump him, because at the end of the day, he is currently just below the formula of points x 100k = salary, the somewhat standard for the league for forwards. Nucks aren’t in a cap crunch any more either

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Pesce wants to stay in Carolina. It's the Canes that won't extend him. They don't want to give him the term he wants, and Brett hasn't said anything. He always says a thank you to the fans after a season. Pesce's supposed contract ask is 8 years and north of 7 million. It's not even the money that's the issue, it's the term.
You use Hronek as a comparable (which is comical, cause Pesce's WAY better). We know Carolina's asking price is a young D man, preferably a young RD replacement, a 1st, and a prospect. This does nothing</div></div>
Ok, now you’re being a bit much, Pesce is older, and although he may be better defenceively, and not by much, he doesn’t hold a flame to Hronek offensively or in transition, calling him “WAY better” is false.

77 gp, didn’t put up any stand out offensive numbers, but healed his own defensively. Defensive defence men dont get paid better than all star calibre defencemen

While the value might be fair for Pesce, realistically Carolina also shouldn't take anything that isn't a significant overpay for the guy that is keeping the right hand side of their defense together.</div></div>
“if the Hurricanes have their way, they’re not trading Brett Pesce, they’re signing him to an extension,” said LeBrun. “And those talks continue with his camp, but I think the Hurricanes are also pretty resolute that if they can’t extend Brett Pesce, they will move him this summer to get max value on the asset with a year left on his contract.”
It isn’t that he wants out, its that he wont do whatever he needs to stay, I should have phrased it better

I am biased, but I think that this is a reasonably fair for a expiring UFA who has indicated that he wont be returning to the canes based on the financial situation, Hronek went for a 1st and 2nd and this essentially is the same thing

With all due respect, Hughes is by far the best defender in the pacific and demko is at worst the 2nd best, I think that at least one of them would make it over one of the flames players in their respective places
